Skullduggery
Did time stop to ask
if it broke your gentle heart,
to depart so soon?

Patisserie Alice

Roll of stratagem with a pinch of skullduggery
That was the only thing I missed in this pâtisserie...

Premium Member To Bake Or Not To Bake

In the mighty town of Stern,
       Non-cake makers, were thought of
       as lowlier than worms?

If a pre-made cake was bought,
Shamed were they and thought of
       nothings and naught!

I am no humungus fan of skullduggery.
Nor will baking ever be my ecstasy!!

You see the sin in everyone,
The darkness and decay,
Deceit, skullduggery and lies,
Point out their wrongful ways.

The dirt upon their window panes,
The filth around their doorsteps,
You see each one for what they are,
And know the secrets kept,

Hidden in the darkness,
Of their dirty little minds.
You see their weaknesses and faults,
But to your own you're blind....

Buoyant orange flames leap like a leopard stalking the sun. Posthumously, the mountain of smoke and ash collapsing on itself, selfishly stomping out joy, but for the Aurora Borealis, the joykill of skullduggery. Her light like song notes, tra-la-la-ing. Her beauty, unscrupulous, to the roaring volcanic beast.

Premium Member Witch Does Broom Maneuvers
Witch does broom maneuvers to the delight of the crowd.
They are roaring with appreciation – nice, long and loud.
We have never had such a marvelous acrobatic witch appear!
This is the best one whose skullduggery is abundantly clear.

The witch was on a roll and gave her wand a flick.
The entire audience disappeared in smoke – what a trick!
Better get them back, the boss yelled. His name was Rosco.
We do not have enough insurance to cover this fiasco!...

The Land of Legerdemain
Let's look to the land of Legerdemain
locale with surprises by sleight-of-hand.
Cards, coins, magic wands tax one's eyes and brain;
absorbed, we watch street performers grandstand.
Legerdemain - skullduggery pre-planned,
audience rapt in magic so diverse
assistants can pinch your wallet or purse.
True talent of prestidigitation
would never aid legerdemain’s perverse
misuse of skillful manipulation.

Discretion
Discretion drives an unpredictable wedge
into sheltered, relaxed, indiscreet lives.
Its thunder designs to whet the cutting edge
of thinking which stays safely in the archive
of routine – same-o grungy words and garbage.
An effective author might sometime contrive
to create a more asphalt approach to language
where skillful articulation wants to thrive.
Virtue mixes confrontation and knowledge
smoothly with just the right pitch so tact survives.
