Later
He said some things.

Driving, going nowhere,
a sky crying
over a shrugging windshield.

If he had a penny for all her sad thoughts
he'd give a million dollars
not to hear them....

Disobedience
The lady,
came out,
and turned about,
she was on a shout,
kid heard it loud,
he shivered,
in anticipation,
stood fixed for a moment,
then shook head as if shrugging it down all,
and went about playing the ball....

Album
Rasping like fleas
In August
the barn roof leaked
The plums hummed full of bees
the sweet nectar captivating

The children's heads nodding like flowers
and Mother couldn't care
Her form shrugging away
Presumably she would leave for home, unlit...

Premium Member So Determined
Tonight I'm so determined
  to turn the page tomorrow
To take a couple steps forward
  to end self-pity and sorrow

Yet when the morrow comes
  dawns still another excuse
Last night's resolve now melted
  palms-up shrugging
                    ~ 'What's the use?'...

Shrugged It Off
became
accustomed
to the habit
of shrugging
off arguments
brought about
by emotional
outbursts
since everything
would always
seem to blow over
in time eventually
till one day it
did not blow over
instead it was over
we were over this
time for real...

Premium Member Worm Hunting
Sunrise, a
lighter shade of gray
replaced a starless black.

Pines stand sketched -
one dimensional and sad,
shrugging - not knowing
if the day is
worthy of a smile.

While a robin adds
another twig to its
tightly woven hopes
as instinct whispers,

Worm hunting is always better
on a rainy morning....

Bridges
is it the holiday season
that brings it all to mind
praying for redemption
for what I leave behind

if I can break free
from places I have been
a new year, a new chapter
the old tossed to the wind

shrugging the shroud of the past
without losing what I learned
waste deep in aberration
from bridges that I burned...

Premium Member Russian Roulette
His game of choice
Russian roulette
The vodka bottle
In one hand
Shrugging at danger
Laughing at warnings
Then it was too late
He hadn’t thought things through
Death would have been
An outcome most welcome
He wasn’t quite so lucky
He hadn’t thought it through

Expressions
The shoulders are shrugging
His mouth is contorting
Ears are glowing
The jaw is snorting.

The legs are stretching.
His eyes are spreading
Big nostrils flaring
The skin is threading.

Mars passing Venus
Oceans are roaring
Mountains are trembling
Salt is pouring.

Fists are clenching into clubs
Books are speaking against the rubs....

So Little Can Hurt
Ive been there all the way,
You've thrown it all back in my face,
You've hurt me to the point tears wont fall when joy is at stage,
I dont knoe what your trying to persend to me,
I shiver and tingle shrugging my head down as trails of liquid are left of relection laying as a
feather,
Feeling to self harm eventhough knowing what others go through,
This is just the begining,...

Shrugging Shoulders
Great Britain and their beloved colonial states,
struggled and determined each their own fates,
foes in war, but united in common civility,
unlike Putin's abandon of simple humanity.

Ravaged and weakened, but firm on their feet,
Ukraine lacks no courage in evil they meet,
and those who would claim, "It is not our fight."
abandon Heaven's calling to do what is right.

One To Another

We got strong love giving
one to another
We get weak knees looking
at each other
Our hearts be close tugging,
just like sister and brother
Our two souls be one merging
as do wife and husband
Ain’t got no sad
silent shoulder shrugging
We always make time
to talk to each other
Sweet conversations always turn
into good Hershey loving
Sending chocolate coated kisses
one to another...

Fiction delights Little Joy Firefly Beast
Shrugging out of preconceived notions
Verdant vines wrapping her gently forward

Imagination sashays in a sassy happy way
Excited to introduce her to ambiguity of whimsy
Orange and blue sunset flinging adjectives

Muse wakes slowly, not recognizing sixty year coffin
Enthusiasm challenges soul and mind to create
Little Joy Firefly Beast recognizing renewal and rejuvenation...

Premium Member The Deeper Reality
Beneath the busy theater,
a little trap door,
modest and illusive,
opens to a space
infinite and peaceful—
a broader dimension,
resonant and real—
the silent birthing chamber
of all possibilities,
including, by surprise,
the gears animating
the action on the set.
One may find the door
and bask in this continuum
by stepping out of character
and shrugging off one’s script,
releasing and recasting
preconceived props....

Rise Or Fall
Time takes its root griped to the soul,
Fighting shrugging off its hold,
Losing control unleashed to structure
a deepening hole in the pit of your soul,
Grabbing struggling to regain the control,
That once you imagined to hold,

Fading away, your heart will not stay,
Growing cold to all that they say,
Delusions of reality filled lies,
Trying to find where the lack began,
Where you truly stand,
Lost is time when there's truly nothing to find,
Rise or fall, that is all...

Feelings
sat looking stunned
his world crumbled around him,
reflecting in his eyes.
from this moment
he was .....
alone.

playing on the radio
new release. ... "feelings"
the haunting tune
ensnared by his thoughts,
why...is this happening
what...is the answer

shrugging his shoulders,
told his solicitor.
"I want custody of my son"

this transpired
together ...they built a new life
together ...they survived

The Peace of Honesty
What peace does man know?
When he chooses not to show
The sweet taste of honesty
In his chosen destiny.
Honesty is the face of content
Forever the weapon of defense,
To guide the restless heart of man,
Frantically shrugging to take a stand.
Wake up sweet honesty!
Roam this land bold and free,
Condeming ignorance on this earth,
Up to now, from the time of birth.
The garment of honesty is my shield,
Leading and protecting until;
Like the golden setting sun
My days work is done!...

The Language of Hugs
If you want to learn another language,
It is never too late to learn how to hug,
As without knowing when to hug,
How to hug,
When not to hug,
What message your hug is sending,
And when it should be ending,
It is hard to set the right tone for the use of other language.

Once you have mastered the art of hugging,
The results will not be disappointing,
With less shrugging,
With less shouting,
With less pouting,
With a lot less complaining,
And hopefully with time, more forgiving....
