Groomed
Rick was an ineptly clad lad
whose wardrobe was shockingly bad.
The he got a sweetheart
with taste like a fine art
who converted him from plain to plaid....

Premium Member A Big Gain
There once was a man whose big gain
of weight was now shockingly plain.
When he went for a dip
all the others would quip,
“Let's land on him, claim him for Spain!”

Upon My Love
I had been running after a sky,
and by a very fast fly,
I stood above it sprightly,
shockingly
when it was falling into the earth.
Now I am in the high sphere
but my sky is
degradingly down to the world....

What Has Happened
Making uneven faces as you sit displeased
Something unsweet has you sour
With adoration.I try to console
Beginning to hold, shockingly pushed away
What has become of us?
The navigators have become lost
This quest has changed us dramatically...

Shockingly, He's An Artist
I am not contempt with the facile.
Your one-piece ideas are too docile.

I like structures that hover,
A life with the soul of dozens.

Omnidirectional Shepard tones
that reverberate through one's bones.

Though to you I bear enmity...
You are not my real enemy....

Premium Member Gentlemen Who Joust
Gently probing her vulnerabilities
     seeking only the slightest advantage
He parries her feints most delicately
awaiting an opening to do some damage...

When she, shockingly, reveals a secret so deep
then casts aside his sword to weep
and declare: A man who jousts with a lady fair
is mete to unseat in her heart's affairs...

Butterfly Effect
t flits gracefully,
freely,meekly,beautifully,
so high into the sky,

capturing your attention,
mesmerizing not to mention,
in all its glorious perfection,
earning all your affection,

without a warning,
without a trace,
it goes,
and you are left without nothing,
wavering and lingering,

realizing shockingly
that the butterfly effect has effected......

Ubiquitous Dream

The dream seems
Ubiquitous
Solid and moving
With many boundaries
Many depths
Many interconnections..
No escape from the dream
It is dreamed..
Everything solid and
Imagined
Nighttime and daytime..
Yet a dream of nothing
Is another dream of
Not knowing or
Emptiness..may seem
Shockingly
Paradoxically
Indescribably
Immediately
Ubiquitous......

Premium Member The Vague Truth Sculpture by Sun-Hyuk Kim
reaching, at a stretch
shockingly, still casting a shadow
still holding form
it's too much to take in
nothing can be held, only passed through
perhaps shaped by the knowing
more likely picked clean of peace
I was never within, never
within that eye to eye tethered stare
once you've seen, you can't look away
what kind of life is that/this
waiting: until I'm in the ground again...

The others

Amazing new house
and two little kids
that my husband left,
Losing life to war
yet wait him return.

Scared of some sounds
shadows of souls
My daughter could see
through day and night.

They were five,
Haunted house?
Shockingly,

Not they,
Dead were

We!

Premium Member Caught Red Pawed
Caught red-pawed in the refrigerator; with missing milk, by a man called, Gator. Guilt was written all over his face, this feline by whom the milk was displaced. He claimed he’d been mugged locked in by a milk thief but, saying a fairy did it, was beyond belief. He was caught red-pawed, a clear guilty verdict; pronounced by Gator, and shockingly quick.

Premium Member Purple Princess
My eighteen yeared daughter
living and dreaming with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,
As she grows up and out
hopes to become

"An old princess
with long purple hair
living in a GroupHome."

I'm not sure if this indicates
I did a shockingly good
or alarmingly bad
job as a thirteen-year dad
with positive therapeutic intent.

Until she smiles,
looks up at the blue-grey sky
with unimagined delight....

Thorns
THORNS
Saw a flower on a dung heap ,
Rose _ petal delicate , graceful like a queen
Swinging proudly on a barbed wire fence
Among her rough slum- dwelling friends ,
Suddenly , shockingly , shedding all grace
She spat such vituperative fire
At her enemy - friend
That it dispelled all my fears
She had thorns ,
Her tools for survival ....

Premium Member One-Way Ticket For a Gentleman
A Gentleman made his reservation in Heaven
Who had donated millions to Charity
Stood up to Bigotry and Oppression
  Fought for Justice unrelentingly

As fine a man as ever you'd meet
  No smidgen of impropriety --
Though behind closed doors
  He'd routinely mistreat
  The members of his family

The angelic tribunal examined his deeds
  And found them shockingly lacking
Thanks to an amicus brief that God chose to read
~ Wherein his wife and children sent him packing...
