Ebenezer Scrooge -
his holdings they were huge,
but, when he hoped to cash them in,
he found indifference was his sin.

Uncle Scrooge had lost his wallet
He went mad and chased a pullet
He fell down the glen
Ended in cow pen
Mr.Scrooge had to bite the bullet
Every scrooge, or grinch, or grouch
that I watch on TV from my couch,
the Christmas spirit, one day, redeems.
I'm the exception - so it seems.
Ebeneezer Scrooge -
His miserliness was huge.
The Ghost of Christmas Future gave him quite a scare.
He woke up from visions with an eagerness to share.

Ebeneezer Scrooge
Met the third ghost, dark and huge.
Scrooge’s nephew invited him to dinner,
But miser remembered his tomb and got thinner.
Christmas shiss muss.
Holiday. Bolliday.
Lights. Shmights!
Scrooge is here, whispering
In my ear.
Grinch is pushing on
Him, angry.
Welcome to my mood
Pre-coffee.
Ebenezeer Scrooge
Suspected subterfuge,
And his transformation seems extreme
For what was probably just a nightmarish dream!
For Andrea’s Christmas Clerihew contest
There Bob Cratchit stood,
being so steady and good,
but the one they always mention,
who got all the attention,
as of course he would,
was Scrooge, so misunderstood.

Real, just like you:
It is all in the mind
Miser Ebeneezer dreamt on Christmas eve ,
Omen from Ghost Present...without reprieve
Oldie's ill fate declared by this Dark Force -
Awed, Scrooge fainted with a voice so coarse!
Social critic and novelist Charles Dickens -
The plot of his every book so interestingly thickens!
Not only the creator of Scrooge was he;
He revived the Christmas spirit for you and for me.
Mad money grubber
Immersed in the throes of a
Skinflint Scrooge syndrome…
Enriching coffers, and yet
Renouncing to joys of life

Here comes the annual Christmas party
I think I'll show up late -- three hours tardy
The punch will be gone, how sad
I'll miss all the fun, too bad
Some think I'm Scrooge, others call me Marley
I once had a boss called Milton,
Who thought his shop was the Hilton,
He sold ancient clothes,
All full of big holes,
And always put an old kilt on.
John Milton was Scrooge – truly the tightest person I’ve ever known!

There once was a girl from San Angelo
who used a cell phone for friends she did know.
She’d ring a tune, talk till they had to go.
Her bill was huge
Dad became scrooge
Phone now sits in his locked drawer just so.

Young Scrooge once loved a lass so sweet,
Till gold outbid her heart's loving beat.
Now ghosts just mock his hollow chest~
"Your coins are warm? Sir, she was best."
There was a guy whose nickname was Santa
That hailed from the great state of Atlanta
. Who acted like scrooge
And a huge, loud stooge
Now he lived; near beach in a cabana

Poetry Soup wears a new face ~ it's like wandering in a strange place
as if blown away with tornadic force ~ floundering its way off course
after reading new lines, I gave a shrug ~ like Scrooge, I said, "Bah! Humbug!"
The Scrooge Christmas Musical
Hiding in bed is poor Scrooge
His antigravity boots too huge
To hold him down from bad spirits
Only there to teach him new lyrics

Earned his paycheck, and hopes to match it

Miss Scrooge dressed her Christmas tree to the nines
She hoped her "hum bug" hub reads thru the lines
She laced the tree so sweet
To knock him off his feet
She sprayed Chanel number five thru the pines
