How sad, i know a couple of these and some are bearable but others unnacceptable for example when they have a dinner party and everything is measured for one mingy serving, how many roast potatoes do you want! And pudding is ridiculous as they give one miserly serving spoon, I want to cringe. Just one aspect of miserly i commented on. Well being Greek we are quite the opposite , always make twice as much as is needed! Paul, great poem my friend Hugs and blessings,Jennifer.

I see that being Greek is similar to being Maltese as regards food, Jenny :) Perhaps we eat too much and expect others to do the same! Thank you for your pleasant visit and comments, my friend. Warm regards & Hugs // paul

Yes, sometimes a person is too concerned with keeping money instead of enjoying life. I had an uncle who must have skimped and saved all his adult life. When he got sick with leukemia and then died shortly after knowing what was wrong. According to another uncle who was left in charge of handling the probate of his estate, he was a wealthy man. Never owned a car, never lived in a fancy house and did not own a TV until right at the end. I don't know how happy his wife and family were though. Sara

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and personal experiences, Sara. There is nothing wrong with saving for a rainy day, but going to extremes does not make sense. ~ Regards & good evening // paul

giving up joys of life just to enrich the coffers, amazing thought dear poet. Thoughtful acrostic. You have given the best definition of miser. Happy writing.
