We're Not in Kansas Anymore

Poetry Soup wears a new face ~ it's like wandering in a strange place

as if blown away with tornadic force ~ floundering its way off course

after reading new lines, I gave a shrug ~ like Scrooge, I said, "Bah! Humbug!"

I agree with you, Jan, but I won't allow anything or anyone to make me stop enjoying apples. Just stay away from the ones that stink and draw flies.

I have been here SO long and I remember periods of time even after 2010 when there were some horrible people giving bad vibes here. it always comes and goes, comes and goes. But in my opinion, ever since they did away with many things from the past and introduced the ability to reply to people under your own poems, this made people less likely to respond back to commenters, and I do not like the introduction of that feature, as much as others love it. Anyway, great little poem, Lin.

I always TRY to respond to those who comment on my poetry. I don't always succeed because life doesn't center around the site for me. It's been nearly 9 years since I joined, left a few times just because it wasn't worth putting up with crap spewed by those who claim they come in peace, but stoke the flames of animosity. I ignore as much as I can, but turning the other cheek only lasts until blood is drawn... not by me. Thanks for the read and thoughts, Andrea.

After nearly 9 years, I feel a negative vibe here. There's an absence of unity, lack of communality as never before. Camaraderie is mediocre, as are comments and responses to them. Many poets, whether long time members or new, seem to be pulling away. I count myself among that number. Most things come to pass, good and bad. Let's hope things change here. This has been a point of conversation with others, not just my observance.
