SAPPED ROOTED SOULS

With our soul’s valleys
watered with God’s wet spirit,
and his healing love,
be as trees of divine sap
sagely rooted in his work:-

Anti-Racist

I clung, yes, clung
To that alien stupor
Sapped that suave subastral quintessence
That makes us
Cry…
And seldom
Laugh.
And I woke up
Rabid
As familiars quirked:
“He will bite them,
these racists!”

Old Game of Leaves

Crinkling hands, outstretching for last comfort
Rusty speckles, sentience all soaked up
Trunk limbs sapped veins on close up
Scented leaves bow before court
Autumn curtain falls, a seasonal sport

Trance Adrift

The mute sense dazed by trance adrift elusive,
never wavers a moment to lacerate
the endangered dormant psyche unwary.
Contrived by passion dream of pale possession,
sapped by nascent sunrays curtain pores suck in.

Restful To the Eyes

Restful to the eyes.
More peace, lends the heart.
Old track, lead on!
To those realms of gold
Dusk's place. Down-shone.

I do not glare at
Each child, spurts counter
To my sapped need.
See myself! And oh
Hear. Hungered speed!

Joy

Joy like a hot springs geyser
Springs from deep in my soul
Love like billows over me rolls
Eternal joy that in time grows

Life tries to close the geyser cap
Sometimes energy is sapped
But the joy renews and bubbles
From its deep abode to overflow

The End

Even so, I know the
Words are hollow and,
Tings like the tumors,
I was still going to say, CRACKERBOOM!
Perhaps, now that we've sapped the guardsmen,
We may take visit to the house owner.
We can now subdue the court,
And sack the principal as well.
CRAC..KER...BOOM!!!

Thunderbird Wine

You could afford a refurbished pink bathroom
yet you had a frayed t shirt
you sapped your Bitter
and had mechanical 70s Whispers
like your clock building,
But I'm interested in your mind
I am quite listenable
I want to share your Thunderbird wine
and be sanguinely addressed by you

Engulfing Sadness

So gross is the scene
Scattered tears of bleeding heart
Heart stabbed and deceived
My strength of bearing pain,sapped
Lurking in oblivion
               *
Empty handed life
Drags me on a fiery path
Smiles snatched from the face
Destiny showed no mercy
Engulfed me in a dark shroud

A Response To Broken Back

This is a poetic response to Colin Mitchell Williams's poem, Broken Back.

The opiate for the
Mass.

A promised rebirth
Sapped the
Life
Breath
From
Beggars and Kings alike.

She died once again
And will
Continue
Dying

Death

From Medusa To Madonna Just Began Part Ll

Bewitched by Madonna assay to last
The grief once felt was hard to past
And drew her innocence with tone
To never leave a sights inside frawn
For an art no similar exist, will never

Leonardo have loved a prise not any
Hied he to win her, petals never late
Love then sapped his past long greif
Manifested art hence in every belief

Locked Out

I am locked out.

My hope is in a cage, no doubt.

My family is trapped.

On the other end of the phone, their energy sapped.

As I turn down that hall.

Filled with zombies, they stumble and fall.

My memories redacted.

Because of how I reacted.

To being turned to a teardrop.

That falls from my mother’s face onto the blacktop.

We Whisper

Like prayers adrift
In candles’ glow,
Our whispers rise,
In reverent tones:
Soft coos of love
And futures guessed,
A treacly void
Of nightfall words
While, sapped, you lie
With weary face,
Our newborn son
Upon your breast—
	Hush, you whisper …
	He sleeps.

Drained

I walked three miles this afternoon;
My energy was sapped.
As soon as I got home, I crashed
And hit the bed and napped.

Though not a napper normally
(Its virtues leave me cold),
Today I couldn’t help succumb,
A sign of getting old.

Where once I’d walk for endless blocks
With energy to spare,
I tap into that reservoir,
But nothing’s waiting there.

STEAMY SUMMER

Sweat-drenched heat victims crank up the AC’s.
Temperate weather has bid us adieu.
Energy is sapped; for some, optimism grows dim.
Alleviation follows the occasional rainstorm.
Many rely on swimming pools for brief respite.
Yesterday was hot; today will be a record-breaker.

Moonlight Above

Youngsters scrutinize upward at the moon Convey a ray of hope to your sapped soul Shades stalk a dim ear and doubt lingers soon Youngsters scrutinize upward at the moon You're curls and whimsy even weeping croon Sweet ones, you aspire to be a bright pole Youngsters scrutinize upward at the moon Convey a ray of hope to your sapped soul

Pride Enough To Beg

Now your crown lays broken
And your scepter duly snapped
Your feet so fleet now leaden
Your might of arm too, sapped.
Yet cling you to times due passed
And vainly hope for morrow bright
Your paltry breath would scarcely last
Sustained you still your burning pride
So quick to kneel and grind your head
To dust, so rightly blithe
Your noble soul demands be fed
Its wretched lust for life.

Deeper

Deeper

I felt the deathly depths cower over me and I suddenly turned mad
The curtains hung darker now and the clouds looked grey and drab
This feeling made me think of loneliness and loneliness was oh so very sad
The emotions sapped me like the Sun sweating me till there was droplets streaming down my back
This is the time of nothing and the blackness is deeper than the deepest colour black.

Paint Thinner

The weeping canvas
drips it's wordings
o'er the upturned chins
of the thinning mind.

A diet;
not of health
but of nutritional void;
sapped of logic and heart,
to warp priorities
and starve it's principles.

Where a mass of ignorance
and complacency takes hold;
lavishing in it's own corpulence
as it ruptures the arteries
of the light of young minds;
unto a paint brush without a color,
to remain adjacently dry forever.

Love Jones

A flame sparked by heat of passion
Went wild with mutual motion
One versed with words, one with beauty
First sight, sapped the fruit of bounty

But love's spark is complicated
Some limbs bruised, some dislocated
Where true faith is the test of love
Some hearts can go wild like a dove

The heart must make its rightful choice
It must listen to its true voice
Regrets can't make the time come back
For, day is bright and night is dark

Riveting

Absolutely sapped out
I will unfurl
my flag today.

It was a raw wound
of nuanced statements in dark
when the moon fell in lake.

Talking to butterflies
as I take on the genre
of brainstormed hibiscuses.

It rained again in my
courtyard, wetting the
marbles and my eyes.

Take away the roof from
over my head. I have
come to meet the frozen tears.

The enormous guilt now
haunts the vacant eyes, why I didnot
accept the voluptuous breast of death.

Branched Out

Swaying, swaying, swaying,
Rustled wind-moved arms
Nature’s back-bone praying
In beautiful verdant charms

Swelling girth scaling greens to duns
Stretching calloused thumbs
Elbows, elbows, bows
Yearly rests and yearly grows

Sapped and juicy teared old face
In the open, out of place
Saplings nestled in nested grass
In the shadows, in a class

Split dried tinder age
Stored sun, yellowed page
Fiery crackle, yet no rage
Giving comfort,
Love,
itself

Loss

Polar bear
Sapped
Dreary
Thin

Visible world falling apart
Real time tragedy

Climate change shackles to fasten him to numbing hunger
Ragged white fir coat growling through its misery
A broken grimness in gutted nature
No ice drift of salvation

Till the last polar bear dies in a smoke chain of complacency
National Geographic special

This too passes into history
Toxic forgetfulness
           like a channel flicked
And every screen's back to normal.
