Premium Member End of Voyage Tableau

Two mighty boats beached
End of voyage reached
Captains’ judgement call
Rust consumes them all
Run aground and caught
Well-laid plans for naught

Premium Member Shackled and Alone

How silent lies a lone ghost ship
that lists, tethered to its mooring
having run aground inside a
dying dream, now distant.

Grounded Ship

Grounded Ship
Dr. James E. Martin
©May, 2013

The ship had run aground
While the crew was horsing around.
No one could see,
How this could be,
Since the Captain was nowhere around.

Sanctuary Necessary

Camouflage afoot
hooves trembling
don't stay put
run aground disassembling
hurry shroud apparel
fortress in view
departure from the barrel
exemption you blew
woe
go

* It's hunting season, so I thought I would write about the poor deer :(

The Cane Mutiny

He had but one leg and one eye
and a ship run aground sitting dry
but his cane - still attached
and his limp - unabashed
caused the ladies to mumble – “OH MY”.

Premium Member The sun goes down

Listen to poem:
I looked for you one last time; as the sun went down I looked for you again; when I was about to run aground Was that my guiding star; it, was nowhere to be found In a sea of contention; you were never really around But even still, as I look for you; the sun goes down

Premium Member Island Dream

I dreamt of us,in a different land.
We combed the beach, walked hand in hand.
We build a shelter with what we find,
Talk about,what we left behind.
We were both so happy as we sailed away,
But our boats run aground so here we stay.

Premium Member Tracks To Nowhere

Into the distance tracks of life reach Worn rails from the rounds and rounds Looking back on images bleached Soon beached to then run aground For as we travel life's tracks Greened scenery caresses both hearts But sadly life doesn't run so smooth Just like tracks they can soon apart

Run Aground

There is a dash of salt in me
Garnered from my years at sea
Neptune, I honored and did plea
For the eternal calming lee
Then a hurricane winked at me
Such a storm was that lady
I tried my best to sail and flee
But she was such a pretty she
Now we live beside a tree
My new anchor and salty me

Darwin's Knock

as a lighthouse
is to tell ships
it's alright

sail towards me
reach safety
in my arms

but light travels faster
than the speed
of sound so

by now you've found
you've run aground
without wax

in your ears
as fear harbors
you blind and soon

deaf knowing now
how the sirens
have evolved

Premium Member The Marvelous Platypus

The platypus excels at evolution And displays a super cool solution For making his way amidst the muck,  He don't run aground.  He don't get stuck. Of this, the platypus would never dream As a self-respecting monotreme. Indeed, a platypus of station Will employ electrolocation.

Your Heart

Why compare yourself to somebody else
You are your own self
and unique in your own way
Instagram, Twitter or Facebook
it's not about your followers or how you look
Don't let your ship run aground
while you examine those around
It's not about others
or what they surmise
It's what's in your heart
they will visualize

Run Aground

Arr, Matey! Me ship has run aground,
In this shallow world, I search for character, but none to be found.
Through me spyglass, a foggy, distant world, unclear,
This incessant devil bird squawking in me ear.
A chest full of silver, gold, and jewels galore,
But what I treasure most is a love forevermore.

Boob's Tube

My TV quit today
God saw fit to take it away

Big ol ice storm came along
Knocked that boob tube
Off his throne.

Cable company doesn't care
They think I can just sit and stare
At a blank screen with no sound.

People I'm not kidd'n round
My way of life has run aground.

No TV Land no Disney too
No Food Network with all the food.

People won't you hear my plea
Give my TV back to me.

Scouts

cub scouts boy scouts, army scouts, talent scouts
outdoor, indoors, camping, hiking, exploring,
learning, earning, helping, sharing,
caring, daring, uniform wearing,
athletic sports, playing games,
earning badges, gaining rank, recognition,
thanks, leaders, mentors, teachers, guides,
brotherhood, lots of pride.

The BSA has so changed their mission and audience that it has become generic and may not stay the course but run aground.

Grievings

I feel so secure when you are near
And so alone when you’re not here.
You tell me that you will soon be leaving
My mind fills with fear, my heart begins grieving.
I’m so afraid you’ll walk out that door
Like so many others before
Those who went away and never returned.
I think by now that my heart should have learned.

-That a love is easier lost than found
-That dream bearing ships soon run aground
Yet I still feel so lost when you’re not around.

Premium Member Living Steady,Tribute To Prophet Tb Joshua

I am living steady
I am moving steady
In unsteady times
Keeping my balance and smiles

Though the world is unsteady
Keep moving and ready
To meet God in His kingdom
And live forever in freedom

Glorify God in good and bad times
So that you can overcome at all times
Cause the devil goes around
Stalking victims to run aground

Jesus the rock is ever steady
He is ever ready
To save those that trust in Him from troubles
As the devil strikes His grace is doubled
