When I See You

When I see you
My mind turns blank
The words escape
From their rightful place
I begin to freeze
As words of nonsense roll off my tongue.
Gibberish, they are.
You think of me as a fool
Then turn to leave.
Not even the words
"I love you"
Could change our relationship now.
You think of me as crazy.
Stupid.
Ignorant.
I can never manage
To muster a word
When I see you.
