Smiling down on His creation, evergreen sentries gave Him peace. Turquoise lake held the reflection of Rocky Mountains with snow’s fleece. Nature’s beauty is leased to man by an Artist with a loving plan

Canada the home of my birth
open sky from sea to shining sea
unbelievable beauty captivates my heart
no other place I would rather live
teaming with wildlife trees and lakes
rising rocky mountains in the west
yesterday, today and tomorrow a part of me

Rocky Mountains tower in God’s sun
Their splendor captured in photos
Below wild stallions make a run
Putting on such fun-filled air shows

Silhouettes of birds passing by
I call to them, but remain unheard
Now I too feel free enough to fly
But looking down, by fear I’m deterred

One In Five Million
You were born here,
and so you own it.
You've done so much,
to make it yours.

You've built rocky mountains,
You've dug grand canyons,
forged great lakes from ice,
tamed the savage.

And look at your great lady
of the harbor...
wow, I see why
you are so proud.

Oh yes, great man; I see
your Godliness now.

So sorry to have bothered you
highness, worm that I am,
so sorry I called,
goodbye and gracias,

Gracias all....

Sappho's Climb
SAPPHO'S CLIMB

Is this Sappho to whom i speak
Bride of Lesbos with the low forbidden voice
She climbs the rocky mountains dangerous peak
Calls in the blue daughters of twilight to rejoice
in the bursting spring. She brings her songs and lyre
Delights the camping soldiers with the fire
Bold call-- vibrates soldierly repressed desires
Sirens yearn --bid most valiant heroes return
Desert-- slaves to familiar arms that hold them til they burn...

Howling Winds
Winds howling outside my window,

as I look out toward the Rocky Mountains

and seeing the white fluffy clouds going

to pay them a visit. Grass is calling for me

to come to them, as they whisper

so low in my ear, telling me what

I already know, but sorry friend

you will have to wait another day,

before I can mow you.

Meantime I will just listen

to the wind howling a little longer

and dream a little while.

I wish rocky mountains mountain peak
Rich soil valleys bittersweet
~
I wish grizzly halos cowboy old leather boots
Smoke signals dewdrops mystical loops
~
I wish grassland red carpeted beach
Walks I wish genie lamps sunburst reach
~
The road less traveled
I wish I hadn't a flat tire
No desire
My surface has unraveled
~
I wish bargain hunters would be the pray
I wish the summer would come at Winter's day

Mountain Echoes
Shadows splinter unseen, an ice-storm grinds.
It is summer and the rocky mountains
are dreaming.

Elk are calling; a deep throated rattle
leading to a bawling screech.
Mountain sheep clash horny heads together
the sound travels miles.

Now sunlight falls from the slopes
while the peaks echo with rolling thunder claps
that tremble the tops of the silver aspens.

Nature booms and shudders,
and inside all that raucous clamor
such a deep, deep well of stillness....
