Premium Member If I Was a Rocky Mountain Goat

If I was a Rocky Mountain Goat
I would wear a furry overcoat.
I would walk rocks
Ignore all clocks
And jump off cliffs onto river boats.

On the Rocks

Some ships founder on the rocks.
Such sad things come to pass.
Relationships! They founder too,
if not upon a rocky shore,
then in a whiskey glass.

Here I am, at the "Bottom" of Everest!

Oh well, not much more I can say.

Now buried deep, twenty feet in the snow,

I shoulda hired Tenzing Norgay!

Rocky Barren Stone

Give me a rocky barren stone
And I will make it lush and grow
Crops and flowers and sugarcane
Fine pleasures that all seek to hold

Life is a rocky road to traverse,
The destination is unpredictable,
Success is something difficult to know,
Failure is not unusual,
Life is like going dowsing,
Using wet noodles.

Now that
we’ve processed
the whales
on their gurney
and salvaged
some profit
from rainforest trees,
maybe it’s
time we stab
forks in our ice cream,
turn cones
of attrition on you & me.

An Ode to A Rocky Heart

An empty space that seemed to yell
Come hold me tight and this hunger quell
A gentle touch, a warm caress
A kiss so light without duress
Over the rock the words flowed
Breaking it down blow by blow

Topsy Turvy, Wavy Curly,
Twists, Turns and dips,
Bumpy Road,
No road code,
We've got to get a grip.

Hold on tight,
With all our might,
While on this rocky ride,
All unite to end this fight,
Or we will end up dead.

Colorado Rocky Mountain High

The reindeer vacationed in Denver

For three weeks well into December

     No magic dust needed

To fly – they were “weeded”

But flight plans they couldn’t remember

Rocky Mountain Camping

Crisp cool morning, hot cup of serenity, fry up a mess of tranquility
Campfire smoke curls around the pines as it floats down like a high mountain stream
Left my old fishing pole at home, so that old trout can have his Rocky Mountain dream

Chaos

The sharp blade rips my soul
Handled by my masterpiece
My compass in the middle of the Sahara
And the flame of my bonfire in the harsh winter
I'm an experienced soldier, I've been through this before
And the seed with decades of effort?
It was planted in a rocky soil

Alien Skies At Night - in the rocky mountains

Above these darker grown
Piny-shady woods
That, deeper, for its bears'
Hideout, enclosed in
Greatest of the great unknowns
Out-stares. Need more gin?

Only what reflects it
For this campfire's sparks
Goes out. As high tracked of
Homey, reassure
We, round about, in friendship
Warmer show its lure.

Sunset On Rocky Top

This mountain's Rocky top
Catching clouds
Like fingers through the air
Dampens rhododendron blooms
And muddies paths we follow up
Always, going up

Daylight peirces smokie haze
Striking peaks
A Golden warmth across our face
Just enough to set for night
And sends us shelters way
Together, another day

Grey nimbus in sky Ominous feel, rocky cove Precipitation? Walking shingled shore Shiny stones, relentless sea Horizon obscured. Elements no friend Merciless waves, tidal swell Noisy Herring Gull. Walk wet empty cove Steep granite rock, seabirds' roost Precious time alone.

Shy Adrien fell in love with Rocky
He is not arrogant and not cocky,
These two loved each other
Both also loved her brother,
Took care of bird named Mr. Blocky.

Apollo Creed match was a disaster,
Rocky was fast, but he was faster.
If there is any doubt
It finally worked out
All lived happily ever after.

Premium Member Rocky Mountain Visit

Rocky Mountains tower in God’s sun
Their splendor captured in photos
Below wild stallions make a run
Putting on such fun-filled air shows

Silhouettes of birds passing by
I call to them, but remain unheard
Now I too feel free enough to fly
But looking down, by fear I’m deterred

Rocky Mountain High

J-anuary fourth Wednesday
A-ims to meet the dawn;
N-ew morn has broken,
E-vening Tuesday is gone.

L-et the beautiful beacon
A-bove the horizon rise;
N-o more mist and haze,
D-ark passes from eyes.
E-vening shadows disappear,
R-ain hides from the sky;
O-pen your eyes and gaze at the rocky mountain high.

Premium Member Ascent

Touching the soft light
Fumbling with forevermore
Releasing fumes, feelings glow,

Breathtaking, dreams trembling, awkwardly climbing,
Arrested by fate, the flow of mystery,

Triplex herbs in indigo, violet kiss
Stirring disciplines,
Evoking her light,
glowing beneath the unsteady crevices
Reflecting the impossible, dazzling, bright.

Hey, Rocky

A tangled view, with fighting inclination
Bloodshot eyes cut through, so they can see
Once a champ with hopes of a big comeback
A title fight is where he wants to be

Fists of fury, though slowed down since youth
A pension he will have, if not a prize
A wheelchair awaits the aged legs of the fighter
If all permits, by round three he doesn’t die

Premium Member If You Know who Rocky and Bullwinkle Are

If you know who Rocky and Bullwinkle are
Get behind me
We are going to skip and hop
And laugh with a loud tee hee hee

We are going to find Boris and Natasha
And give them a piece of our mind
We will be stern
But we won’t be unkind

If you see a flying squirrel
And a large brown happy moose
They are Rocky and Bullwinkle
And it means they got loose

Rocky Roads

Hey there my little goofball.
Just landing in to say,
Rocky roads seem oh-so-smoothe when I'm with you.
My worries leave,
But just in case they don't,
You're always there to hug them away.

Through the easy and tough,
Smoothe and rough,
Babe, I'll always have your goofy back.

Note: This poem is written on a picture I drew of an anime turtle with a lady bug on its back.
