There is no difference between differences

Except in the substance of their essences

Premium Member Her Essence

Her Essence

It is purely my indecisiveness to blame

This heart she cherished miserably lost

Doubt treated love like a fleeting game

Remnants of her essence a pallid ghost

Sa Memoire

A shadow hides behind your smile
in the Riviera sun
Parisian moments long ago
our love had just begun

A child born then lost to time
whose laughter still we hear
As life took back its greatest gift
—his memory to endear

Winter’s chill pierces my frail heart My shallow breath could cease, Ere spring arrives, I may depart For the sunny islands of Greece. Beautiful Kythira Cenozoic era Lovely riviera I dream of the Aegean Sea, Winter’s chill so depresses me.

Riviera

Sun-kissed City,
named the American Riviera,
a princess wearing a cape of mediterranean climate,
a pacific pearl,
now
a hostage
to the mountain's plunder,
the backdrop of fire ravaged hills,
where the prayers of the locals
hold the debris flow intact
until
the next rain
could again
lead a death artillery of boulder
down into it's path.

Premium Member Life's a Surprise

One second you're floating on air
  Turn around, your cupboard's bare

In April you're up on Cloud Nine
Come May, the stars don't align

In June you croon a sweet tune
By July, life's a wreck and a ruin

Today you cruise the Riviera
Tomorrow you broil in the Sahara

Life's tendency is to surprise
   More often than not destabilize

Music's Magic

Embedded within exist symmetrical pulsating rhythms

Attuned to voices in harmony chanting melodic hymns

Celebrating music as homage to cosmic consciousness

A passage through infinity imparting love and oneness

Only To Depart

I brushed aside
My faraway glimpses,
The many consequences
Of trifle revelries I wasted
Grasping the snippets of night time
And all abandoned pining.
Bouquets of fondled whispers dangled
Among damp stems along Riviera beach,
Still molding flit kisses in balmy shades
That stretched on coasts of sudden farewells.

Premium Member The Most Beautiful

A classic beauty was his luxury Buick Riviera, the name of which would never have stayed with me but for the fact it became a carriage that transported me into magic. His kisses were smoother than the leather seats on which we embraced. As I gazed into the eyes of the most beautiful face - that night and even the name of his car -were seared into my brain.

Premium Member Dinner On the Redneck Riviera

Cuter than a June bug was Blossom
Bubba's hound had a nose for possum
Bush moved and they watched it shake
   Not a possum, dadgum snake
Bubba took aim, results were awesome

Tweren’t the end of Blossom’s era
Sucked out venom; used Aloe Vera
   Dinner was finger lickin’
   Snake tasted just like chicken
Felt like a Redneck Riviera

Heart Set Free

                                   Betrayal stirs his dormant shiver

Regretful tears flowed out to sea

                                   Broken promises failed to deliver

Silent goodbye set her heart free

Obudu Cattle Ranch

Imagine hills where
landscapes slide into
heavens
Dews and hues
romancing its ranches
A decor of devil's bow in
soft tone
A cascade of bays
blending
A steaming geothermal
spa amid black lava fields
Thawing snow tumbling
Glitzy huts emerging from
riviera
Echoes of villagers
sparkling the harmony of
the wind
Howdy tourists emerging
from the blues
Obudu cattle ranch a
milieu of fantasy

Riviera Night (my own title)

Your kisses were smoother than

the leather of the seat

on which we sat embracing.

I pray our last night

lingers in your memory too.

Premium Member Aunt Fays Cat Chair

the cat chair was loved from 1962 to this day
It was purchased with lots of moola by my Aunt Fay
At the time it was shocking, nothing other women would buy
She was ahead of her years, she conformed to no woman or guy

Aunt Fay loved the cat chair, it was reserved for her alone
We did not dare sit in it, even to talk on the phone
For it was her domain, her favorite furniture piece by far
Her next favorite possession was her two-toned Riviera car.

Premium Member Afterglow

Afterglow of purple passion beneath silk sheets.
Cordial cherry crimson of their cheeks taste sweet.
Blue veins like the Parisian Riviera - a lover’s retreat.
Bodies, turned left and right with twining finger pleats,

Sizzling after fronts combine, nescient of Winter’s sleet.
Her flaming strands askew on his chest. Pounding beat.
His loins stir once more. Full lips, like the dawn, he greets.
Her eyes like the morning sky, no longer shy, repeats.

Premium Member Staging the Night

Alabaster staircase framing chandeliers
Picassos, Renoirs, Van Goghs lining the walls
Marble floors, dazzling in the starlight
    Polished perfection staging the Night

  Dainties, delicacies, tray after tray
Sweetmeats, exotic fruits, more on the way
Debonair men in their tuxes emerge from limousines
Women goddesses wear sequined gowns, leggy queens

Playboys, playgirls of the Riviera making the scene
Jealousy left wondering what it all means
