Pound Of Flesh
Living in one
renting the other
Owning them both
then to discover
As owner I’m captive
the tenant is free
In debt to the banker
—remortgaging me

The Answers Rebuffed
Can you own the present,
  while renting the past

Can you steal back the truth,
  from the future at last

Will the reasoned excuse,
  ever be reason enough

For all questions to merge,
  with the answers rebuffed

(Villanova Pennsylvania: November, 2106)...

Told
if i need to
tell you to
kiss me
then we
aren't
heart
felt

wanting
to only
lonely
be my
self
so
i

release
taken off
my leash
no more
renting
wanting
to own

but not to
have you
but for you
to have me
as we listen
to the Stooges
"I Want to be Your Dog"...

Premium Member Day One
That first day Emeralds shine,
reflecting sparkling smiles of mine;

In that moment everything is new,
flawless like a dream come true;

Opening the door to your home,
no more renting its your own;

Decorating each and every room
all the style you can consume;

Ready for a meal lets Toast!
Our new life on the Gulf coast....

Premium Member A Dampening of Rage
rage
blood red
simmering
boiling over
insecure imbeciles off gassing pain

a fraternity of inbred hound dogs
renting shepherds
flocks are lost
horror
death

soul
lingers
ghostly lights
clarion calls
the atomic spin of celestial night

loss of foul ego conjoined particles
wonder free falls
I less bliss
haunting
rite...

Autumn Leaves
Hallelujah
In euphoria
Autumn leaves
On the ground

As I rake, I take what’s fake
All the hurt, all the bliss
These autumn leaves got
From strangers’ heartstrings

Autumn breeze, starting fresh
Haunting past renting free
Never dare anymore

Impermanece
I'm only renting these feet of mine,
They carry the weight of my body just fine.
These legs, they take me to the shore each day.
They move me and groove me and allow me to play.
I'm only renting these eyes,
I see the spirit in you, so sweet.
I see the pain and the secrets you keep.
I'm only renting this mouth of mine,
My honest guide that keeps me just fine....

Premium Member Renting the Veil
Covered in shadow
White to light
She is married
To the night

...yet she claims

I am owner
I am might
I have won
It's my right

...to rule man

Androgynous
When at war
A goddess
No more

...to appease appetite

Kings and Queens
Bound to glory
They honor and venerate
Her ancient story

...empty womb

Premium Member Eighteen Lives At Home Now
One question for you
How do children live today?
Renting a room is costly.

In the seventies
Eighteen could rent a full house
For a hundred bucks a month

This could possibly
Today pay for candy bars
In our expensive world

Eighteen lives at home
With his parents and siblings
As does twenty-eight

Sometimes thirty-eight
It is so expensive now
To be a grown up...

Come To Me All You Rats In My Granary
come to me all rats in my granary
I have a feast for you
husks and shells of groundnuts
but after though beating

you live in shelter without renting
eat fresh food without permission
sewerage system you use freely
lay down your belly for caning

Come you rats in my granary
line up and make your statement
Tell me why you deserve no beating

you eat food for my children
then thank me by mixing it with refuse!...

Premium Member Little Green Hut
Little green hut was embarrassed and alarmed,
After renting a room to selfish rooting pigs
Both had bamboozled her; she was easily charmed.
They had messed up her house, ruined her digs.

Left muddy footprints splattered all over her wall.
She explained that they had been friends with some of her kin.
You were fooled neighbors said, making her feel small.
Humiliated, little green hut ran away and was never seen again....

Callous System's Chaos
cursed wraps wielding
callous contractions clustering
saucy smokes smoldering
taunted anger tuning
rustic route rustling
felon feelings fostering

unbridled opening undoing
pulsing passage renting
vying passion puking

punctured veins shrinking
like nature's thrill
when tattered's fiery

callous system's chaos
blackout, ballistic war.

You Are Renting Me This Thing
So this is what you companies are renting these days? What you have right here certainly does amaze. This hybrid car is not much bigger than a go-cart. Now that I’m in this thing, where do I start? You have given me a card instead of a metal key. This car runs on both gas and electricity? The dashboard has strange unfamiliarity. These controls are not what I’m accustomed to see. This car might be Japanese, but it’s Greek to me.

Premium Member Please Stop Asking Me Why
Just can't reason out
Why
But with a little bit
Gratefulness and satisfaction
Will do
We're renting a room here
We're sharing the earth here
We're searching treasures here
We're sharing the riches here
Though I'm not the richest
I'm not the poorest
Though I'm not the wisest
I'm not the most stubborn
Though I'm not the luckiest man
I still can see kindness on the face of God
Though I may not reach the heaven
I'm not walking towards hell...

Premium Member Pink Penelope
Pink Penelope Porcupine,
  Never had a dime.
  Often went to bed,
  Without a shred of bread!
  Until one day,
  She found a way.
Renting out her spikes you see,
  To earn a living,
  While always giving,
  To the community.
They loved to roast marsh mellows,
  And Pink Penelope porcupine,
  Rented hers out,
  Four for a dime.
  Today people say,
  "Pink Penelope porcupine,
  Always has a dime!
  She is tucked into bed,
  With bread and a spread!"...

Premium Member Please Be Patient
My dear and wonderful friends
Please be patient with me
I have twenty one of you to
Thank you see.

Tomorrow I head for Casper
Trying to find the answer
Where I will live out there
Be it buying or renting I don't care.

The weather took a turn
Fooled us all so I must run
Got to get there and back I hope
Get me come answers so I can cope.

Love you and will pick up
Where I left off when I get back.
It will be a week or so
If I have good luck or it does snow.

Cile...
