A Tree Tale
I envied a butterfly
Sitting prettily upon a leaf
Her beauty was truly beyond
Belief.

She flutter her wings
To tease the flowers and me
Because we had roots
And she was free.

Cynthia...

Capturing Light
Can I capture you?
Will you let me hold you?
I’ve watched you play through my window all day-
And you dance so prettily-
You move so silently,
And your presence here gives the darkest hour hope,
But can I capture you?
No-You’re too precious for one girl to hold…...

Another Day
From somewhere near a woman laughs
a child cries
a dog more distant barks
and light comes to me off water from that other brighter shore
so prettily reflected
I search within that darkness of my own
for light I might have lost
amongst fond memories
warming thoughts
and pretty reflections.
There will always be yesterdays....

My Poor Poems
My poor poems, neither rhyme nor scan, a scandal be damn,

as grand grammarians grumble and crotchety critics cry tumbrels,

while trendy topic pickers poke fun at one so dumb, as so nice and precise

mistresses (or masters) of the art pull me prettily apart; I just go my way -

smile, sigh, ponder and pray that the Muses dear will inspire me without fear....

Premium Member He Has Never Forgotten
Tastily, prettily, she licked her lips.
He stared, not able to look away.
Mesmerized, held firmly in place.
Captive.
Under her spell.
Feelings he could not express
Rose out of him, unbidden.
Her eyes rose, and she smiled
When she caught him staring,
Beneath her lashes, well-hidden.
Those lips that smiled.
Oh, my.
Oh, MY!
He has never ever forgotten.
This moment in time, and he never will....

R.K.
R.K.
An uphill battle is all we were or could ever be
We collectively from the outside-in make perfect sense
But two cents and two more
Somehow cannot amount to four
In all your complexity
Bothered with my simplicity
Distant marks so prettily spark electricity
But only momentarily because inevitably
It becomes evidently clear
How terrible we would end
If we ever again set in motion
This train wreck....

Premium Member The Only Star For Me
Darling, please tell me you remember
the night we first spent beneath fall’s moon.
Although daylight lingered, there soon
shone the star of our first September!

It twinkled in the sky prettily
as if it smiled down on us that night.
Old and gray now are we. That’s all right,
for you're still the only star for me.

Premium Member Lazy June Moon
Marvelous, matchless, magical, moonlit midnight,
With a superabundance of sparkly, summery stars,
Peacefully placid, pure and prettily plummy,
Radiantly rich, rhapsody resplendent rapture!
Fragrant flowers frolic freely in your fervence,
Eye-catching and exquisite in their exuberance,
Bouncing blissfully in breezy, blooming ballet.
Inexhaustible and intoxicating and intriguing,
Dazzling and delightful, and doubtlessly dreamy....

Motherly Earth
The earth, old gypsy she is
Her beauty fascinates me
Since thousands years before I’m here
Her beautiful shape moulds me prettily
She is beauty
She is flowers,
She is beauty
She is river and its wave,
She is beauty
She is life and breath,
She is beauty
She is walking path,
She is beauty
She is poetry,
For her Creator creates this universe beautifully
Cause- she is central point of creation and cares all motherly

Premium Member She Was a Dancer On Fire
She was a quintessential dancer on fire
The audience was leaping with her
Cobalt blues swirled in my head with each leap

She was an honest dancer with spirit
Bronze skin shimmering
Taunt muscles at the ready, I was a dancer!

She was a story-telling actress
Goldenrod glistened on her brow
Peach dancing shoes pirouetted prettily

I tasted lemon and raspberry as she twirled
Trying to follow her around the stage
Feeling colorful, beautiful and young again myself....

Stolen Beauty
She gazed toward the window
across father's long oak desk
her dimples prettily smirked
vision of beauty impressed
though a tainted ego lurked.

A pale lithe form grew angry
the youthful heiress, a rose
froth of fine gold flowed sweetly
held back with blue silken bows
Dark form engulfed her neatly

Her clear blue eyes shone evil
cold breath frosted panes of glass
Her pierced heart bleeds black with dread
Evil stole the lovely lass
Sweet tortured soul, now is dead....

Premium Member Lets Keep Him
He was reading my ideals wave length,
Peering into the depths of my philosophy,
Spying on my dendrite highway.
I wondered if there was room for him too

Trixie my muse threw him against a wall
Instead of shattering like the others,
He rolled into a ball and laughed prettily
His eyes were green and hazel, matching mine

 Let’s keep him I suggested.
That was fifty three years ago
Today he snores while Trixie and I write
She is poking at him now, wanting to play...

Premium Member Skull Fever At Play
Skulls were sliding down the rapids having so much fun.
Their screams were well seen but eerily silent of course.
They frolic so prettily! Their bodies said, lying in the beach sun.
Suddenly an elongated skull joined them, the skull of a horse.

The equestrian’s mouth opened, showing loads of long teeth.
It’s amazing said the turtles, who were hiding below in the reef.
Skull fever is alive and well in the Seven seas today!
The sea creatures nodded, liking them in every way....
