Lets Keep Him
He was reading my ideals wave length,
Peering into the depths of my philosophy,
Spying on my dendrite highway.
I wondered if there was room for him too
Trixie my muse threw him against a wall
Instead of shattering like the others,
He rolled into a ball and laughed prettily
His eyes were green and hazel, matching mine
Let’s keep him I suggested.
That was fifty three years ago
Today he snores while Trixie and I write
She is poking at him now, wanting to play
