Untitled Trash
Ripe Lingo is the wit of pretension
Jargon is the fibery fuel of
the pellet stove that is my muse
Even I wince at the pleasing placement
of a quavering whim....

Are You Talking To Me
Pretension seems to pretend
Friends that cant depend
Authority lacks a little
Spraying hope with spittle
Imagination
just imagine
what
else
i could be
if i
believed
i am me...

this pretension of self-consequence,by no means unpleasant,...perhaps ..sufficient and in itself agreeable enough .A sensation of pleasure Every sentiment complete, perfection ..where grace and spirit are united in a conceptual moment....

The Old Songs Play Themselves
Some heard as his mother
stood over ironing in the 1947
summer of Hatboro, Pa..
Some of the songs
in black and white
Saturday evening television circles.
Some later, songs of folksy pretension.
The songs persist
anchors of memory,
like the crystaline
seeds of clouds,
matrons of tribes....

Pretension To Omnipotence
Beyond all those particular existences
Such illusions of meaningless digressions
from what's humble and noble
Decimated to nothing other than
eternal oblivion
A fallacy to one's own finitude
A pretension to omnipotence
An undue adulation
To such negations
Of knowing evil by infection...........

Glad,hedonistic lad;
Delighting in delectations,
Amusing affectations,
Posturing pretension
with ogling ostentation!

Professing pleasure seeking
Confessing,leisure leaning.
Reputation so revealing,
Passe peer appealing!

Performing,extroverting,
Showcasing,demonstrating,
Superficial and artificial;
Pleasure without measure....

Garden's White Roses
The sun rays are
On the garden's white roses
Reflections dance brush-like
Painting white, yellow
And pink colours
So proud of themselves
As guardians of innocence,
They make no pretension
To challenge beauty

Instantaneous whispers of happiness
Rise from the roses
As if all time would hide
In the beauty of this moment

The poet's pen is not strong enough
To tell of their melody
The roses know this
And smile to her silently...

Avatar
Why make up an identity
Even unknown to oneself
Tainted vague personality
Much to bewilder myself

You think you know me well
Still you can’t even tell
Can’t read between the lines
Of what’s hidden with all the lies

Been pressured hard enough
To say I must give up
Living up with expectation
That’s only filled with pretension

Been so much confused
Wish we could just refuse
To be somebody else
Before we lose ourselves

Curiosity Soup
Curiosity Soup

Curiosity Soup, serve with a pinch of Salt;
A warm mixture of Poetic words,
Vintage Wine or a very fine Malt.

Uncomplicated, yet satisfying and full;
Leave your taster time to absorb,
Rich flavours to savour and mull.

Give it depth yet effortless and clear,
Don't add ambiguity or pretension,
Use a clarity of words to hear.

Make it enjoyable even if emotional or sad,
Avoiding that bitter after taste,
Curiosity Soup, best you ever had....

Premium Member Let It Ride
I love when people speak their mind
I'd rather not be guessing
I may not care for what they say
Or points they are professing

But as long, as there's respect
Void of all pretension
I agree to disagree
With them and their dissensions

Should that make them enemies
I hope that's never true
For, we need each others thoughts
To help expand our views

If I should seem to say a word
To cause anger in their eyes
I hope they do, what I've learned do
And just let it ride on by...
