I Pieced Together the Past
I caught my breath.
I let go.
I pieced together the past
And it seemed easy enough to believe.
It gazed at me with the kind of sorrow that would shut anyone down....

My Journey
On my journey, family, romantic loves, places

and friends have deeply dipped me twisted

then spun in bleary pieced feeling conditions

that time tossed dark-shelved from my vision.

Listen to poem:
A mere mortal
I am to AI.
A demi tasse slurp,
a tiny thought bubble,
blowing in the wind,
pieced to pop with puny plunk,
just a pip spat out.
My brain drained to a pitiful
paltry piddle, into
the insatiable sea
of AI's knowledge bank....

My Heart Bled Forever
My heart bled forever
When you told me the truth
I thought it would never stop
I stuffed it with cloth
With your pictures and songs
I patched it with my memories
Of our time together
I pieced myself once again
With the good and the bad
Of what I knew of you...

Pieces of My Dream
Pieces of my dream a puzzle of Destiny
so I'm putting together pieces that were destined to be pieced
I got a few pieces MISSING
an other pieces mixed in
So I put a piece in that can't fit in
So I keep switching
Once all the pieces fixed in
The puzzle complete
I look at the puzzle an see
What it speaks...

Debts Paid
Pieced together thin slices
like a slivered moon
mosaic
cobbled snapshots of splendor and pain

Fractured glints of crashed boundaries
uncollected past dues
mingled souls’ shredded fabric
a patchwork insane

shimmered moonglow does knock on
your window each night
poke your nose through the fog
and unlock the safety chain...

I Never Was
I never was....
Daddy's little girl
sweetly spoiled
....softly held
gently nurtured
....fiercely protected
never beaten
....very popular
sought after
....never pretty
young long
....irresponsible
completely sane
....right about people
a bad mother
.....pieced back together
thought about twice
....I never was
Heard when I screamed...

Premium Member Remembering Orange Crush
Orange Crush made us feel grown.
We were kind of older, on our own.
Grape Kool-aide was set aside.
We had cola now, and potatoes, fried.

I remember thinking the fizz made me feel old.
I was all of fifteen; Orange Crush taste was gold.
We were wearing two-pieced swim suits on the beach.
Eating hamburgers too, which cost twenty-five cents apiece....

My Heart
you fixed my heart
pieced together each part
took your time
it would be a crime
for us to have never met
now I see every woman as a threat
my every heart beat is your name
I will never be the same
if you ever left
I would be deaf
to the men of the world
I have hurled
myself into your life
I can't wait to be your wife
this is the way it should be
our future, I can't wait to see...

Tears On the Wind
Too often the nights were spent
Crying myself to sleep
Too often my heart was broken
For the promises he didn't keep

It took me years to build up
After he'd torn so much apart
But Jesus reached out to hold me
And pieced together my broken heart

When I think back and remember
The hard way it had to end
Those tears came from a broken place
But now... Now they're just tears on the wind...

Morning Or Mourning
The cold light of dawn nudges awake
A new day. A day full of possibilities
And promises, sometimes empty but
Convincing nonetheless, like a nest
Intricately pieced together and crafted
By a doting mother's beak, only to be found
Empty.
What has become of them?
Flown, now grown, or tumbled out by
The cold-hearted cuckoo?
Perhaps deconstructed by the greedy jaws
Of a fox, whiskers bloody, satisfied....

Premium Member A Song To the Night
(Triolet)
~Tribute to “Hymn to the Night” By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~

He heard sounds of sorrow and delight.
Swept from marble vestments of halls.
Felt her presence compelled the light.
He heard sounds of sorrow and delight.
Spelt at her feet old'n rhymes so bright.
And layer'd stars pieced her celestial walls.
He heard sounds of sorrow and delight.
Swept from marble vestments of halls....

MOONLIGHTING

swaddled by the stars,
moonlight swaying.
obeying sandswept eyes
and yawns of sleep.

dreams appearing
in seraphic shadows,
lighting up the inner room —
anamnesis of sunlight breadth.

drilling of the hands
and feet in repetition —
knitting needles syncing, lips
rehearsing the alphabet.

dot to dot of neuron hours
handsomely pieced
in gigantic looms. pillow
cosseting psychic depth.

On a Day Hence
How it mocks your mind to think
a thing your faith affirms as tenet.
You tussle with the doctrinal ink:
was there an inaugural minute?

"Always existed," can that be right?
The thought swevels all your senses.
Saints with you do mull and marvel
trapped in past and present tenses.

The picture will clear on a day hence
when puzzles will be pieced complete.
They will make heaven-sent sense
as in tears we kneel at Jesus' feet....

Vacant Stay
By Mark Miller
© 08/17/2014
Blackness in sorrow,
Became my Soul loss honor-
Life had simply begun,
But thrown away sent by pen-
Pieced up darkness pillow concrete
Wrapped round guilt's sullen sadness
Feeling sealed muddled-
Once believed they threw my life away,
Now know I chose this obtrusive stay-
Hope for serenity all is fake,
Ghosts of memory's lies awake-
Much to learn nothing for certain,
Here I am kindred kindhearted-?...

Wrong Reflection
I look in a mirror, and what do I see?
Only a stranger looking back at me.
I changed so much from before.
I don't recognize myself anymore.

In a blink of an eye all was lost.
But was it really worth all it cost?
I lost my friends, my own respect.
Ill get rid of what the mirror reflects.

I punched the mirror, the image split.
The pieced broke and I said "this is it".
I'll fix this mirror to where it was before.
Before my old image became no more....

Youthful Regret
Foolish youthful emotion rides waves
divorced from tempered reason,
a swirling vortex craves
hot passion for a summer season . . .

Spent fires prelude life’s bitter mosaic
by lies to self first born, prosaic,
shards of broken resolutions pieced in patchwork mirrors
where glittering alternatives reflect and pierce like arrows.

Release me from regret and self-doubt;
let the childlike spirit arise and shout.

Your Glance
stars strike your heart
and your eyes water.
lilac petals now sauder
the life that fell apart.

slip away from the heat
of the forming disease,
that is conjuring a defeat
in the use of your pleas.

under the lids of mine eye,
are the murders of thine lie.
falling off the cliff of your soul,
i am now free of a soaring toll.

my life is pieced together now,
and saudered flowers bloom.
my eyes melt into what i allow,
no longer forced to glance on thou....

Looking Back
Where vacant eyes once stood and stared... I see
a light now twinkles there ... where deafened ears once refused the truth .... they now listen intently as though an eager youth... a smile once forced to hide the pain ....now sparkles brightly with hope ingrained ... A soul once broken and torn apart... now shows a beautifully pieced together heart ...

Where the future once seemed to in the past lie ... we March forward on to this new life my little girl and I...

Player's Intitution
So many like me,but to very few i return the feeling
My heart wishes to love,my mind wishes to play the game
Let's see who can really feel for you,but will you feel back or turn away
can i let myself love somebody knowing i can and will get hurt
should i just hurt them first because i can't be broken
If my hearts already shattered.
My soul needs affection and in my mind it has that.
Me myself and I.
My pieced together heart on the other hand is stuck between fear and love....
