Blackness above is
soundless, its darkness echoes
alone, and afraid
would it deride my fears as
one by one they disappear.
I notice you casually crossing to the other sidewalk
sly underhanded glances with your pinched lips ~
a biped's loud silent growl that says don’t come near me
twinkle twinkle
little star
I know not
how near or far
the horror lies
within these skies
for me
there is
no light
in the night
only artificial
in sight.
Astraphobia is alive and well
Thunder terrifies Mr. A.C. Bell
Lightning scares him sometimes too
A phobia that makes him blue
A full blown rainstorm to him is hell.
Psychological condition
Having a tradition
Of taking a position
By way of petition
In the mental volition
Affecting one’s cognition
Zen-A-Phobia
Bring me home,
to live with you
in gardens of blue-
light blue.
Magnify the plot
Of treasures stored
Gifts of giving
Giving, giving,
Evermore, evermore…
Xenophobes don't approve of strangers.
They dramatize fearing what they don't know.
Prefer cages to overcoming phobias.

It is dark,
Quiet and oddish.
It triggers phobia,
Spiders crawling under my skin.
It is hallow and sinister at best,
And at worst, ominous.
Oh how creepy,
The cell in my head.

Romantic dreams were shattered when
They roamed the sheet in search of food
And hunted on the pillowcase;
The bedbugs spoilt the loving mood…*

A true story – have had a phobia ever since!
you always notice black marks on the floor
checking, in case they scurried with evilness
but don’t look at me, no no no, I double-took
earlier and to be honest I’d rather carry the
village church up the stairs wearing flip flops
you've exposurephobia
you need it to be over
seeking out the closure
you're fake and you're a poser
it shows to those that know you
but you're convinced not true
living your life a delude
in armour we see through
exposed to all but you
we call him Mr. Math
Arithmetic is his path
itemizing and adding are his fun
counting numbers until day is done
multiplication is his thing
he’ll never buy a diamond ring
figuring taxes is what he likes to do
he does not have math phobia like me and you.
There was a top chef called McRoth
Who made a delicious fish broth,
And to please Mrs Jones
Who had phobia of bones
He sieved it through layers of cloth!

Placed 5th
Missing you greatly with strong desire
New phobia arises with heartache;
On this rock,I build my confidence
Plenty ideas and people tried to dissuade me
As good- time memories flash, and I remain assured.
CONTEST:" An ABC Poem about Love" sponsored by Alfred Vassato
Fragile
humanity.
Haunted by a world of
divisive 'isms' and phobia,
Struggling
to find a voice, aching to live.
The gentle embrace of
a child. Sweet hope
takes wing.
*'isms' - things like racism, sexism, consumerism, cannibalism... the list can be extensive.

In the phlebotomy room,
there came a woman
And a man
And their lad
Inquiring, queuing
‘My blood, I give to you;
draw and draw freely,
I have no qualms’
The lad started,
Responding, boasting
‘Yes, you can draw
by every means you choose
save with this needle!’
The lad protested,
Sobbing, struggling
The transparent black muslin veils drop,
Macabre tattoo's over her body,
Supple she displays her grisly curves;
Phobia transforms in nude expression.
Slender move yield to new perfection;
Hear her heart beats of satisfaction.

The psychiatrist meddles with the head.
Nutritionists keep us decently fed.
Nurses are very clever,
As are surgeons, however,
The proctologist's probe is met with dread!

You'd embroidered the Inferno
sewn with the thread
of supple beauty,
endowed Ganguria
with philosophical
profundity and great altitude
of enlightenment.
You'd reconciled
an old skirmish
between disdain
and phobia.
O God, you made
Ganguria an ultimate abode
decked with platonic ideal
of love and mosaic complexion
DUMBSTRUCK
All on a sudden loud thunderbolt struck
Our ears! That sound causes phobia
on my dearest wife Emilia
Promptly she put ear plugs.
I rushed to give her hugs.
But road roller running leaving us dumbstruck.

30 seconds
Quick quick
World is quick quick
Fast fast time is running
Decision phobia
But decision in quick time
Another impromto disaster
The style was plan
and plan was the style
Led the way
Not think a ping
Flow goes on on
Everything ok
But a step of disaster
Led a disaster
A wrong decision
Played in a 30 second.
Wasted landscapes without proper tenureship
Evicting the true owners from their habitats
Tensions between the economic and survival
Leached sands, eroded banks of stewardship
Artificial substitutions and the phobia of bats
Nature besieged by ignorance and the political
Denude of forests, wetlands, and pollute the seas
So producers and consumers are soon decease.
i don't feel like writing a love poem
i used to think it's a writer's block
but it ain't
my people are caught up in angst
and trapped in a maze
can't just look and smile
like my president does
they say it's phobia
and there ain't nothing to worry about
but then they steal
and mock at our so called hospitality
i will never write about love
cuz am just not feeling it
today!!
Are you a boy
Or are you a girl?
Are you human
Or a mural?
Can I manipulate you
Like clay?
Can I warp your sense of logic
By the twisted thoughts I say?
Fearing what I can't explain
Knowing what I know isn't right
Succumbing to the wave of fright
Humanity believes is a fight
Logic dictates
So I must anticipate
That society won't advance
Due to the present circumstance.
What is more painful than pain?
It’s the anxiety of pain that is to come
The pain of a needle being injected is nothing
In front of trypanophobia
The pain of poverty, failure is nothing
In front of the phobia that is to come
What if I won’t succeed, What
if i am not working in right direction
What if the effort is not worth the result…
The anxiety is always more than the pain .
