From very far away heard the death.
Each word pounded against silence
Withered breaths of mine panicked
Reality forced a
whisper in the ear,
faded were gone.
Rush to the
time-stamped
Peace.
Quite philosophical lately, don't understand
Not that brilliant, just a simple minded man
Made an adjustment
Knowledge is abundant
Think I'll travel the country teaching from a van
There is no more car, no more home;
No more boat, nor jewelry;
There is no better game, no better food,
No better clothes, nor finery.
But there is a more and a better
From which more better comes.
Does the winter really turn into spring,
Does it go from a white to a green sort of thing?
Or, is a winter a thing of its own–
A singular winter, past, off to places unknown?

As we all get older
Our brains still smoulder
But our drive takes a detour to a different plane
Life is a tapestry
I but a thread in Nature's palate
How can it be that I am the beauty and ugliness

I am all that is known by me
Where do I go when I'm already here
If deathless prose there be, forsooth
In poetry lives on more truth
Through life in soul which outlasts all
Whose breath is life, and death is small
As stone will claim what bones remain
