lifeless phantom floats
moonlit waves of white flecked foam
forgotten relic
By: Eve Roper 7/2/2015
I kissed you goodbye, my mind's eye
Told me so. A fleeting phantom
To reface the embrace without
Lips, and I prefer this version.
Yesterday was blue....
and the tears came like blood....
phantom blue....
and i missed you....
wherever you sing.......
A Sad man
Crying
On face
Smile
But fake
In heart
Carrying a load
Of his fate
A fade in eyes
A phantom
In young
Age
Form:
Yesterday's done
so let it go
Another time
just doesn't flow
Tomorrow is
a phantom play
Embrace this thing
we call 'today'
Suicide is a phantom
tap dancing on the mind
with a ball-pin hammer.
Looking for and opening
to place a stick of dynamite.
kaboom!

the thermostat’s kept so low ~ my amputated phantom-pained toes freeze

Fog distorts misty eyes
bleak sight, haunted skies
eerie clouds, lay low
where phantom
headlights glow
Genetics,
our cruelest mistress
the herald’s phantom
In fated shadow
a birthmark staining
—our darkest pall
(Dreamsleep: March, 2022)
As the phantom consumes
the chaos from my soul
desperate hands
pull me to the grave,
i lay there numb and cold
the earth now has my bones
deep
in
the
mountains of glory
there
is sweet gold
but
it
lead us
down
the
phantom road
where
the
devil dwells
to
takes
your soul
He vanished quickly from her life,
leaving only the faint bruise of
memories and a question that only
the starkest of truths could answer
Why?
It hid in the mirror,
Invisible to all eyes
but visible to hers,
At night it is revealed,
They journey into the unknown,
The mystery in the mirror.
One day I’ll become the Phantom
And enter your cozy room
To the winds, sans a hint
Skipping the Moon’s glint
And on your lips
I’ll impress
A kiss
Ishhh!
Soft whispered
Piecing cries
Laughter haunting the darkest nights
Candles flicker
Glasses brake
Heart filled cry
The Phantom Lullaby has begun
Form:
Into the phantom darkness
My soul flew ahead
Paving the way for my flesh self
Who had no choice
But to reattach my shadow
And retrieve my
Darling darling soul
Island of Light...
Night's ocean swirls.
Faces, masks of quiet.
Coffee steams, secrets.
Phantom signs, a beacon.
For what?
Emptiness echoes.
Perched...
Waiting.

opens nostrils --
fragrant dreams
patchouli incense
smolders ethereal --
phantom dreams
patchouli incense
burns as fingers --
massaging dreams
FOG LIKE PHANTOM STREAMS
misty beauty, white ravines
make mornings meaningful
Acacia arboretum hold fast
At the breaking before breakfast
The new day, old friends, egrets
The stream, a phantom in my hand,
I clench; the liquid's gone, unmanned.
To hold what shifts beyond recall,
Is chasing silence through a wall.

The airplane had been missing since 1944.
We were shocked to see the phantom soar.
It unexpectedly appeared on a summer’s day.
Flying at us between clouds orange, pink and gray.
A strange Cheshire feline, gold eyes neon-bright
Floats like a phantom with teeth glowing white
His low, haunting purr
Adds an eerie allure
For our kids every Halloween night

Sir Trump is now all chummy with Sir Kim
A pair of bosom buddies, kith and kin --
Trump tweets out Joe Biden
'Your bird-brain is hiding' --
Hey, what's yours, Sir Trump, a phantom limb
Listen to poem:
darkened deserts dry
phantom psyches proudly pry
mindless multiply
