In Heaven

Pearly gates and streets of gold Melodious chorale of angel’s song Clouds are soft I want them to hold Rainbows of love shining along

Disremembered Sins

I stood before the pearly gates
Awaiting entrance in,

Unaware of impediments
To bar my entering,

Then they came back to haunt me,
My disremembered sins.

Premium Member They Speak Australian In Heaven

There I was standing at the Pearly Gates
I was so excited to learn my fate
   First, they sat me down
   On my head a crown
Then the question ~ What are your pronouns, mate?!

Premium Member Pearly Gates

Seems I'm getting near the end of life's journey So many things still to do, but the future is murky Will it be this year of next Probably a few more I suspect Starting to see visions of those gates so pearly

Heaven Awaits

Happiness awaits, in the heaven's above.
Through those pearly gates;
   Our Father awaits.
We are always loved, from our Father above!
He knows who we are and what we can be.
Only thee, can choose to be, what he meant for you to be.

Death Is here, At the door With boiling arms And macabre charms To lend a gnarly hand And escort my life away, On an exclusive one-way trip Through July hell ‘til it sheds its grip, Halting when through the Pearly Gates I slip.

Premium Member Pearls of Wisdom

No pearls of wisdom awaits

No greetings at pearly gates

No angel's wings or golden things

Nor judgement that seals our fates

No eulogies will be read

No memories of the dead

No blinding light or second sight

Only darkness lies ahead

Premium Member Told Ya So

“Told ya so” said my intuition... should have listened I agree Won't make that mistake again, one day it'll be the death of me Maybe running a red light That car from the right And the Pearly Gates come into view, oh-oh, pooped my dungarees

Premium Member Ye Old Jalopy

Ye old jalopy of the junkyard
spiffed up
   with spinning tires
hydroplaning of the weather vane
    no ejection seat
    no buckle to fumble
open air
     hit from behind
the child held with grandma’s wrought iron arms
   grandpa’s at the pearly gates
chooses lemon-lime

Rip Tide

I hitchhiked up to Limbo
  to await that final toll

But lost my way when Siren’s called
which led me to the shoals

My thumb went back inside my palm,
  their voices soft and low

No closer to those pearly gates
 —this darkened undertow

Premium Member Life Is For Pleasure

Life is for pleasure
  Who needs the pain
As you exit this world
  What have you gained

Keep your upper lip stiff
  Deny yourself fun --
You might as well be
  An ascetic or nun...

'Course at yon pearly gates
  There's this matter of sin
Epicurus cries 'til it hurts ~
   But he never gets in

God's Philosphy

Hope and revelation is within
You can see it around thou, You can feel it within thyself
The pearly gates open withn thou, Thou understands and knows it
Because his hope is stronger than the obstacles in his path

Only divine intervention,
only faith can lead his hand through the valley of the shadow of death.

What Will It Be Like

What will it be like
Will there be big pearly gates?
Will I see my family and friends?
Is it true that angels
are beautiful creatures of the sky?
Dressed in there gowns of white.
What is it like in heaven at night?
Can you see the stars shining bright?
What happens to the pictures in the sky?
Do they fade away at night?

At Heavens Gate

Who is this woman standing here?
is not a lady of conscious clear
whose time on earth was not spent praying
of dubious character mankind was saying
as death takes hold and her spirit vacates
she stands at heavens pearly gates
as they open she enters in.....
St.Peter smiles and tells her then....is not all mankind full of sin'?

Hope

Woe is me,
A stranger in a strange land of hate,
An eternal enemy to love and to trust,

   Sorrow is my companion,
   Lonliness is my mate,
Which of the two is my fate?

   Open thy gates,
   Thy wonderous Pearly Gates,
For outside i know only pain,

    Can i love again?
    Maybe tomorrow,
    Maybe tomorrow.
