He Should Rehearse
He Should Rehearse

He should rehearse how to disperse
And with his small hands steal a purse
What would he possibly do after he did
Find paperwork for his illegitimate kid
Continue to be plagued by horrible curse.

A ripple wow.

Ode of Your Glimpse
Buried in paperwork and lost in concentration, a flicker of your face peeks threw the
rotation of numbers and words spinning within my cluttered mind... And for that moment I
stop...

And smile.

You are: Rose on my cheeks. Aloe for my wounds. Oil upon my skin....

School
I recently filled out paperwork
With the intent of returning to school
I can take classes online
One more step must be completed

So now I am off to write a essay
For multiple scholorship applications.
Possibility exists for a full ride scholorship.

Here's to hoping they like what I write....

The American Dream
The American Dream

By Elton Camp

A real bargain in a house the couple spied

To become owners, it was time they tried

Filled out a stack of paperwork

Submitted it to loan officer jerk

The answer soon came back: loan denied

(Are banks doing what they can to help the economy revive?)...

Premium Member If I Had a Clone
If I had a clone
I would send her to my faculty meetings on Wednesdays.
I would have her do my paperwork.
I would have her clean this bedroom.
I would not be too friendly,
I would not engage her in idle conversation.
I would keep her busy, doing everything I detest.
She would vacuum, cook, clean, dust, and mop.
If I had a clone....

Premium Member I Hate Paperwork
I hate paperwork it never makes any sense
Organization is for others, not for me. I dislike it.
Paperwork is something I do not do
Unless I am writing a poem, a song, or a cheer.
Unless I am drawing a cartoon or a comic strip.
Paperwork? Not me. Not ever. Not in my repertoire
Unless it is creative paperwork, not filling in someone else's blanks....

Chaos
while the silent moon is above the horizon,
the teeth grind to block the ears to
allegoric noises in the head
of crumbling paper in the hands,
screeching fingernails on a metal piece,
squealing chalk on the board.
the disarrayed thoughts
like untidy paperwork,
An emotional chaos is creating void in the chest
and the unrest mind disobeys to sleep....

Premium Member Here Are Your Choices
Here are your choices I tell my boss.
I can fill out paperwork and ask for that Friday off
Or I can call you that morning and pretend to be sick.
Which do you prefer?

I prefer to know ahead of time, she replies.
Good choice I think.
I think it guarantees she will grant the request.
But I am wrong.
So I have to call in sick that morning.
We both laugh....

I Should'A Read the Fine Print
Before you sign any paperwork
Ensure all of it you've read
Too often we've given our signature
Then we start to dread
Did I agree to something I shouldn't have
What exactly was there written
It's so important these things are checked
In order to not feel bitten
Always read the fine print
It's something that we're told
Cause often it's important
Too important to be bold...

Premium Member Kitchen Timer Inspiration
i set the kitchen timer
and attempt to beat the clock
it is the only way i can do things mundane

weirdly when the timer goes off
i reset it and begin the next banal task
in the throes of it, I glare at the timer

However, I have to reset it a third, fourth, and maybe a tenth time
to keep going
If there is one thing I despise it is
cleaning, dusting, washing clothes, and paperwork.

The timer is my only inspiration....

Bureaucracy
Bureaucracy comes...
But it never seems to go
It brings along attached to it
Endless tales of woe
Copious piles of paperwork
(Mostly useless forms)
And calls that go unanswered
Are typically the norm
You quickly lose your rag
But you know there's no escape
What you need are giant scissors
To cut through that red tape
Petty, mindless officialdom
Drives you up the wall -
It's a bloody miracle
Anything gets done at all!...

Premium Member Successfully Eliminated Jobs
I have successfully eliminated twenty-seven jobs.
Jobs I interviewed for maybe more than one time.
Jobs I wrote essays to procure.
Jobs that paid me well.
Almost too well.

I successfully eliminated some of them before noon the first day.
We haven’t even filed your W-2 paperwork yet, the boss says.
The boss is usually stunned.
Not understanding.
I spend my life successfully eliminating things I do not want
in order to find my joy....

Paperwork Plague
Paperwork is the scourge
Of every occupation
Every day you hear the sighs
Coming from the population

Reams of paper pile up high
Deadlines come up quick
You’re stressed right up to the max
Your boss gets on your wick

Rapidly you lose the will
To continue with the day
Resist the urge to kick the wall -
Just bin the lot
                       and
                              walk
                                       away.......

Of Pulp Trees and Degrees
That big, elusive doctorate degree,
pretty much like an emperor's decree;

a kind of fetish that academes require,
         sort of survival kit one must acquire;

within the realm of the university,
part of the myth of tenured security;

its twin is the rule: "publish or perish,"
         a choice most faculty hate to cherish;

and yet they churn out books with little rest,
paperwork enough to clear a rain forest!...

Premium Member I Am Not a Counselor He Said
Today was full of paperwork; not my favorite thing.
Not my least favorite thing either – that is cleaning.
No one despises paperwork and cleaning like I do.
This paperwork was long overdue, I am the counselor.

I know there are federal guidelines that have not been met.
I spoke to the v.p. and said, “you surely did that paperwork.”
He looked at me like I had grown six noses.
“I am not a counselor,” he said.

So I guess he despises paperwork too....

Premium Member Lots of Paperwork Which I Despise
I was in a peevish mood when I realized
I have been assigned to be the school counselor at two schools this year.
Always difficult for I have done it before.
Never easy. Lots of extra paperwork which I despise.

Almost impossible to do a good job in this circumstance.
Luckily, yesterday, I sat down next to a counselor whose story is much worse.
After hearing what happened to her, I calmed down a bit
And did not bite the leg off the supervisor who decided these things....

Premium Member Energy Low This Week
Worst scenario climbs over my skull
Rips off my cap, climbs inside my gray matter
Kicking her feet, swishing my mushy brains around
Making us believe our fear is insurmountable
We know it’s happening, yet feel powerless to do a thing
But listen to the loud screams as the dendrite highway
is being kicked around, against the side of our sad skull.
Wait! Optimism says. We can fix this, but energy argues.
It has been a deliriously disappointing week
filled with paperwork which we despise....
