My Roomie

On the shores of Gitchie Goomie
    I outlived my silent roomie

But now I've not a thing to say
I miss my roomie every day

I Love You Mom

Mom is still with me

her body and soul are here

       sadly her eyes stare

           she has outlived destiny

                only memories remain...

The Heirloom

Mama got the pot
at her neighbor’s garage sale
sixty years ago.
It outlived her and
will feed her son, and his child
and his children’s children
long after he’s done using it
as his snare drum.

Dying Ember

On parting of ways often crassness slays sentiments tender since hearts are asunder. It's best to release habit borne disease that's outlived it's use and now spews abuse. 21-November-2022

The Blurb

Fed-up folks donned bearskins and hibernated
Woke up twenty years later, a bit addle-pated
They figured they'd outlived the worst
But on their devices a blurb so terse
Vote for Ivanka, she's expiated; unlike Hunter, who's dissipated

Old Home Town

Nothing has ever changed
100 years of tobacco stains
on the wall of the general store
From the gathering of old men
who had outlived a life on the farm
now a collecting place for
old souls who’ve just outlived
Nothing left here but dust
and mouse turds filling up
the cracks of hope

I'M

I'm a disease uncurable
I've seen the unseable
I've outlived the livable

I've danced with a crippled
I'm the unfortunate events
I'm the prosecutor of the prosecutes

I've lived through hell
I danced with sin
I pronce my words
a little thin

I'm only human
with enough bagged
with a bottle of jin.

I Can Live

11.	I CAN LIVE

I’ve outlived
the winter’s
allergies
and depressing rains
in a human zoo

I can live
my retirement too
without pension and
medicare:

the wheelchair
doesn’t frighten
I can live

uncared and unknown
survive broken home
the numbness of the
arms
the pain in the
neck

and inflation too

Playing Footsies

Playing footsies, smiling in bed
Watching the late night news
What happens- enough said
Well, Surprise! Surprise! They both snooze

Together eighty years
Both outlived most their peers
Some happy, some sad; tears

No birds and bees
Playing footsies

She Has Outlived So Many Others

The softness of my nightgown delights me.
I admire her feeling against my skin.
She puts me in a fantastic mood.
She made me feel better when I was sick too.

I was too ill to appreciate her then.
But now I sit in my recliner, stroking her colors.
Glad that I saved her from all of those salvage bins.
She has outlived so many others that were not as soft.

Puzzling

You had outlived
the dagger ?
flesh-eaters were turning back

I had burnt my palate
eating the sizzling words:
meaningless.

The evil will stay
as extended goodness.
I have no complaints.

Once upon a time
ravens were hungry.
Now they are competing with vultures.

This moonbeam was going home
into the marigold.
Sunflower was not in bloom.

My Love the Stump

I arrived from work late
And there it was near the backyard gate
My favourite tree now a stump
My heart felt like a lump
Brutally cut off this being
So vital for my wellbeing
Made me sit and cry
Beneath the clear blue sky
I lowered my head on the stump
And felt its heart go thump
Knew my love still lived
The stump, the tree has outlived
With reverence I kissed its bark
And knew it could be used to make an ark

Grandfathers

I have outlived my life.
My son-in-law opens doors for me,
drags my oxygen tank around
on a metal cart.
I stop at every intersection,
waiting for honks.
I cannot see the lights.

Sometimes,
I go out to dinner,
alone.
“How many tonight, sir?”
“Just one; just me.”
I follow the hostess to a booth,
set for two.
She smiles at me as she removes
one set of silverware,
and I stare
at the empty space
in front of me.

Uncle Rosebush Revitalization

the rosebush grew
until the days became new
still change is precious and few
the notice of your precious memory is long overdue

at times i feel guilty
now that i have outlived you
i still feel that you are older than me
for your understanding of the world far outranks mine

the rosebush died
modern forwardness is now satisfied
however this old soul is now very mortified
so a freshly new rosebush by me is now applied

Almost Time

I once had a wish
But now it's long gone
I realize now
That I'd rather move on
In my life,
I would try to endeavor
Things I can do
To live life forever
As the years passed by,
And now that I'm old
I oft wonder
'Bout some things I've been told
Twas told we die
And go up to heaven
Well, guess I'll know soon,
I'm ninety-seven
I've outlived so many...
Family and friends
Now what I wish for
Is that my life ends

Afar Our Existence

Rumbling thoughts crescending,
Beyond knowledge ascending,
Wreathing daze, unfurled,
Meanings twirled…

Outlived incomprehension,
Outlived tension,
Era of delusions,
Era of illusions…

How shall our guile emphasize?
How shall our wisdom philosophize?

A million words alleged,
A million vows pledged,
A million beliefs agreed,
A million creeds…

Yet, life remains an erratic illusion of distance,
For
Knowledge stretches afar our existence…

Whats the Big Deal

What’s The Big Deal? Miracle Man October 20, 2023 Because with new fangle gadgets I’m out of touch, so It takes me twice as long to do half as much. Young sprouts think I’m a used up old fighter, can they type a letter on my Royal typewriter? Inventing new things makes the world go round, most sub standard and didn’t last long I found. Throughout my years I’ve outlived many a fad, Usually pitched by women, most scantily clad,

In Initio

I’ve been here since the beginning in some form or another. I’ve showered the earth with molten lava and quenched it with wind and sea. I grazed with dinosaurs and was eaten by their kind; Yet I outlived their demise. I emerged from the sea as Man executed the first murder the young earth had ever seen. His universal love and hate defined by incongruous beliefs. I am Truth, which is the distinction: endless beyond His own extinction.

Mates Indivisible

Along with living and lifeless alike
Are born the shadows endless,
And at feet do they slowly dissolve
When sun sets and moon wanes.
Birth and death are but strings
Bound between myths
Of delusions and realities
That have outlived time-tides.
Clouds and Souls have fate similar;
Incarnate in nature intentionally
And struggles on to bring about
‘Origin is the End, End is the Origin’.
Ageless is time, so are souls;
The indivisible mates of the Bang Big!

Can'T Catch Em

Can’t catch em

Outlived my time
Click of eyes, no chime
Still young a bantam rooster
Old people seem to lose the rhyme
Can’t catch em like I u-ster
To walk alone it is my path
Lonesome on the fringe
Time sometimes brings a merry laugh
But who am I to whinge
A kiss for lovers in the mist
A cuddle neath the stars
The right one have I maybe missed
Neath Jupiter and Mars

But onward ever onward
To quest and often fail
Knight errant fearless undeterred
He seeks the Holy Grail

Knowing I am Beloved

I can rebuild that shed
but the memory of Ollie falling off the roof would be lost if I did.
I see my squirrels chasing each other around my walnut tree.
I outlived both Chip and Dale.

I gaze up into the blue sky
feeling God staring at me,
sending me warmth, comfort, and vitamin D.

Every iris, clover, dandelion, clump of moss has purpose.
I relish in my sliver of nature.
Feeling Him in every teensy flea and bee.

Knowing I am beloved as I create my
own story.

Killing Old People

KILLING OLD PEOPLE

The Government is dipping
into Social Security now.
That's the reason why
the New York Governor Cuomo
put virus victims in old folk's homes
instead of putting them in hospitals.
It's easier to kill old people that way
and get their Social Security.
The Government is wise
when it comes to spending
other people's money.
If the Government can abort babies,
it can kill old people too
whom they think have outlived their usefulness.

Joe Besser

This wonderful man was a stooge many years ago.
He starred in the Three Stooges and his name was Joe.
Joe didn't like to be hit by fists or with pies.
He was a great comedian and that's no lie.
Sadly he died in March of 1988.
A date that his fans would hate.
He outlived Moe and Larry by thirteen years.
People laughed every time he appeared.
He may be dead but he can never be replaced.
This funny man was a credit to the human race.

(DEDICATED TO JOE BESSER WHO DIED MARCH 1, 1988.)
