News Years Old Wishes Poetry Contest Sponsored By Craig Cornish

I once had a wish
But now it's long gone
I realize now
That I'd rather move on
In my life,
I would try to endeavor
Things I can do
To live life forever
As the years passed by,
And now that I'm old
I oft wonder
'Bout some things I've been told
Twas told we die
And go up to heaven
Well, guess I'll know soon,
I'm ninety-seven
I've outlived so many...
Family and friends
Now what I wish for
Is that my life ends

Hey Tom, yeah I still have along time to go before I reach that ripe age. If I looked that good at 97 I might have lived to 150 LOL Thanks so much for mentioning my friend Tommy that just passed. He was a long-time pal. Hope you are well my dear friend. You too are as genuine as the gold. With love, brother Tom. Charlie

Wow Charlie, your soul is flourishing through your poetry, don't wish to leave! How inspirational your poem is to us who feel the age and pains creeping up and stealing from us...and we find we are rather young to a spry 97, wow. Have a healthy and happy 2025, 2026. 2027, 2028 and many more. Why not? You are still inspiring others, like me right now, bemoaning my own years, and goodness, you turned on a light in my heart. Maybe life isn't done with me yet, gives me hope!

My dear friend, BJ. My soul is flourishing with gratitude right now. But I have to be honest, when I wrote this I was thinking about the elderly people and how some of them probably feel. I am not that quite old yet, in fact, I just turned 65 (lol). But I do appreciate your very kind words. I hope you have a wonderful and Healthy New Year and many more. Sending love, Charlie x

You are one of the best, brother SO! Thank you...and I do ever wish the same on you. Strange, one of my dear friends passed this morning. A High School buddy that I've been friends for for quite some time. A fine musician and father of three suddenly had an heart-attach. Just never know when someone is going to go. Love ya, bro...thanks for the uplifting words.
