Poetry Sees Us Green
If we senesce
                     in plain sight,
                     only poetry sees us green

No Whiskey Lover
Your love is thin
  it has no flesh
its a pretty face
  with no consequence,

so I tell myself
  go without the water
by summer the malt
  will be in order
your love is thin....

Thou Hast a Heart O Silver
Heart o Silver, doth thou dither?
About the stars, or planets blither?
O grateful gods, become so weary,
Heart o silver, hast left thee teary.
Glaciated by wind and storm,
Nevermore, thy heart be warm....

MUSIC

Like the wind flying through the air
As the fire crackles out a beat
Like the waterfall crashing against rocks
like music to my ears

NOTE: I wrote this when I was about 10. Found my old poetry! So happy!...

Laugh and Cry
7/11/15

Go ahead laugh and cry
And if you'd like to ask me why

Don't let time pass you by
You have to try
Regardless of if you want the whole thing or less than half the pie
Remember you can't go back in time...

Key
Kept safe in the hands of Love
Ever to be locked and guarded - a vault of Peace
Yes - only to be unlocked by the art of love

They touch me inside and out
They twist and turn me all around

And i'm stuck in one place
I break when were robbed
im a door knob

Take Note
O the old poetry!
When hard times meant something
and uncertainty was eternal.
Words of wonder from a stirring spirit,
now gospel to yesteryear's testament.
The rain wet pine once burst forth with
the morning dew.
Alas! My memory is always new....

Old Poetry
My name is Timothy
but when spoken on your lips it sounds differently than any other
Your lips must be smoother than butter relaxing like rain
I never knew another to be as graceful or outspoken
Maybe I would like to take a little closer look into your soul...

No longer dreaming
Just proceeding
Without cheating
I am achieving
More than I ever was believing
Every single evening

Now my impressions are leaving
Even more meaning
To other human beings
While I am still breathing

Maine Through Spain
There once was a pretty girl from Maine
That her beauty spread to Spain
She didn't want to marry
Because the man's name was Larry
So the people thought her insane

Old Before New
Every day once a while
I could see the construction of a
new building going by,
It proceeds slow enough
to make some innocent birds mistake
it for an abandoned shelter;
They have begun building their refuge
on its dusty window sills,
lovingly nurturing it to become
permanent, giving their everything....

Beneath rugged oak tree's shade,
and the voice of nature's mirth;
headstones laid to rest upon
the lap of transcendent earth.
A mourning tribute rhythmic
song etched on each in repose
serenity blooms drape in dreams.

Kiss
I was nothing until she kissed me,
I did not exist,
Neither here or there,

Until she looked at me,
I was invisible,
Seen by no one,

Her love gives me life,
To be included in her existence,
Makes me real,
For without her,
I am nothing.

Premium Member Lonely
Little and slowly life ebbs away
Own self for company stayed another day.
Never a smile, never a visit,
Everyone too busy, peoples past existence.
Lonely is quiet, lonely doesn't speak,
Yearn for life connection my loneliness does seek.

Premium Member Got a Minute To Write
Could I have written novels
    How about short stories...
Perhaps non-fiction could have been my forte
    True adventures, riveting biographies...

Really, I don't think so; I'm getting old
I wouldn't succeed at those genres, truth be told
  Given my shrinking attention span
It's poetry or naught for this 'minuteman'...

When the Going Gets Cold
When the going gets cold

I was going down the lane
when I saw an ice front coming up the hill
I let go of the dog.
Ran home and burnt old poetry books
to keep the cold at bay.
Sagacity went up in flames keeping me warm
cold ashes and regrets.
The dog, with its thick fur and disregard
of reading
survived in the hollow of an old oak....
