Mama bird builds nest
Papa bird supervises
Twigs and grass nestle
In a lofty cradle hid
Eggs hatch with demanding beaks
the empty bird’s nest
fell neatly upon the ground
after life began

blue bird cozy nest
she loves her cozy snag home
so lovely cute house
swinging in autumnal wind
sweet neat night dear lovely bird
The Eagles Nest
The master’s shelter
Once promised eternal reign
My city strangles
i build my nest with
love and nurturing kindness
steadfast compassion
reinforcing it with warmth-
a good solid tree abode.
In rainbow sky
Flushed dreams fly high
Nests lie empty.

dear Lord
i found
a skylark
in the
robin's nest
i thought
blue robin eggs
oh what
little clouds of joy
they bring
skylark in the robin's Nest
From the safety of their NEST, Mama SENT her babies out into the harsh world.

Nest/Sent
Be very careful squirrels;
Falling leaves undress the trees
And naked trees show my cat
Right where your nest is!
we become
the Shepard
eyes of the
lonely lark
looking out
across the
tender fields
to find a
place to nest
and then
we become
Your last robin is leaving the nest
You hope it'll be for the best
Be it near or far, by plane or by car
Pray that he finds his lodestar
Feeling warm,
Mommy’s cold,
sense of duty,
Mommy stays,
First of four clouds,
She clears the sky,
So light can shine,
On the cloud she raised.

Daybreak crackles, nested birds stir
Moon shadows bed them just as they were
No day for school or lessons to fly
These are newborns; did you have to ask why?
Premature gosling, broken from the egg,
gasp for breath in primordial refuse.
Blindly search for your absent mother’s leg;
shiver until death’s caress sets you lose.
Twigs clutch like fingers~
no sky, just darkness.
Wings hum above me~
my small heartbeat thrums.
Trapped in this cradle,
I taste wind’s lost song.
golden dawn spans bright
larks soar up high with sweet songs~
spirit of the air
larks fly in high skies
yet build their nests on low grounds~
lesson of meekness.
Cupid cast a spell on two
lovebirds in a gilded cage
They wish to make whoopee, .....but
plead for privacy!!

BRIDS NEST
In deep devotion
hidden infatuation
builds a transient nest.
The captive bird flies away,
leaves feathers in broken heart.
