white faced mimes protest...
falling leaves noise pollution
fierce finger pointing

I can sense
the creeping
overture.
t’s blasting
out windows
to the lawns.
Pepping up
an entire
neighborhood.
I am the wonderer
Don't know where to hault,
If you find me in your neighborhood,
Just let me know whether am lost or not!
Whispering willow
A haven for tiny birds
She weeps to hide nests
Rustling leaves fly on the breeze
Confounding neighborhood cats.
Engagement is tempting,
But ignoring them
Is far better,
They’ll probably
Find new victims,
Yet with time,
Light crushes darkness.
Much of this will sound familiar.
Watch out for neighborhood
pet.
when we will be wet
be sure that you pay each debt
never forget pet
tys hillside garden
peppers tomatoes cabbage
a neighborhood gift
rosemary bushes
rows of carrots and green beans
scarecrow named mazey
a neighborhood dog would cry
while eating rhubarb pie
so we added honey
and this made him runny
till he morphed into a housefly.

Kids in the summer,
Running, jumping, and playing.
Biking in the neighborhood,
Yelling Loudly down the streets,
Not ready for school to start.
venous fog wraps around oaks populating the neighborhood
— shades lifting

the still muted leaves. . .
soon revelation of homes
secreted away —
the Autumnal sweep, bitter

Mr. Rogers was purely good
Like his peaceful neighborhood
An ordained minister who didn't preach
~ using the airwaves to life's lessons teach
These people are all nasty he said.
He is new here, he knows no one well.
What were they like in your old neighborhood?
Mean he says, glaring at me.

sunny morning
in neighborhood
coffee waifs
he comes in moonlight
prowling the neighborhood
looking for dinner
stopping by to check the cat's bowl
watching me through the window
cats in my neighborhood agree
there is something youd like to see
if you stay out all night
and meow until light
a man with a club climbs a tree.
A pile of leaves to a child is better than a shiny toy.
but a copperhead can blend in perfectly.
Every neighborhood has a pile of leaves.
and a copperhead or two.
There was a boy in my neighbourhood,
Nothing he seemed to understood.
He was rather dull.
He was much like an empty skull
But, brilliance caught up with adulthood.
How many drinks make you beautiful?
that question was asked to me
It’s somewhere around five
at a neighborhood dive
and the time is a quarter to three
a woodpecker drums
from his perch on the high pole---
cracks in the silence
of a sunny afternoon
echoes through a neighborhood
They said she was too hot to handle
Wore a slip on her date with Randall
When she came in at two
Is when the gossip flew
And became the neighborhood scandal
Of the neighborhood virgin Lenore
Who spurned every young man at her door
With just one little kiss
Had a moment of bliss
They say now she's a virgin no more
woodpecker drumming
echoes through a neighborhood...
high rise pole dancing

In honor of Skat's "Top of the World" Contest
In my neighborhood, stands a fine tree
where my good boys and I go to pee
But who has to go worst
is the one who goes first,
so they all get in line behind me!
