Coming To Nairobi
Like a lazy patient serpent
Machines line up to an infinite stretch
Yonder is Nairobi, barely minutes
Away, only if traffic would thaw
No option but enjoy the engines' hum...

Premium Member A Woman With Brilliance and Beauty
She is from Nairobi, a highlighted nation of luminaries
A country that encourages the education of women
She has her masters and her PHD but none of that matters
When the men see how beautiful she is, they discount her brilliance....

Summer Night In Nairobi Beer Garden
SUMMER NIGHT IN THE NAIROBI BEER GARDEN

                    goats crop blooms
              tall herders nonchalant
                      nip an ale

                      sun drops low
               crickets are counting drinks
                      last call squeak...

I Will Be Back
Going to Nairobi
To make some macaroni
I will be back
With candy, full bags of candy
I will miss you, in my trip so fancy
I will bring stories and tales to last a year
Of handsome strong African men
Of beautiful brown African women
Of kids, with their freedom and flame...

Heathrow, In Transit
The warmth of Nairobi in January is gone now.
Here it's cold and drizzly, a savannah
of tarmac and metal jumbos before me.
My natural rhythms have given way
to this soaring erratic chase of the sun.
But I return to warmth—the desert heat
of southern Arizona, and the ardent glow
of my heart when I hold you in my arms....

Happy Anniversary, Goan Institute, Nairobi
A place to call home
A field in which to roam
A hundred and fifteen reasons
As many Christmas seasons

We are justifiably proud
To be one of the crowd
Come rain or sunshine
We are just fine

Under lockdown, our spirits soar
To toast each other, once more
As,our illustrious past Chairs, we praise
To Chairman, John, our glasses we raise...

Premium Member Sneaky, Snaky Limericks
There was a fancy snake from Paris, France
Who had a thing for lacy underpants
He tried to put some on
  But they only slid down
They were designed for cute, pink elephants

There once was a rattler from Nairobi
Who found himself in Arizona's Gobi
When he saw a rocket ship
He thought he'd take a long trip
Aboard spacecraft "Obi wan-Kenobi"...

Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud

( Nairobi Mall Attack)

What the Dark Cloud bestows
no even a Clairvoyant knows

Unless if it breaks into a Flow
None can estimate the blow.

Rolling, writhing 'fore rupture
wicked, amorphous structure

Eerie and dark, low it hovers
menacing to break its covers:

For, Hate is that heavy cloud
brandishing Guns in its shroud

Bursting into a grisly Flood
of Tears, and innocent blood!

A s the lion cubs let loose followed her scent
I n haste through stores and stalls in riotous glee
R ight to her they led George he begged her to stay
O utwitted in her ploy to go she tried again to leave
B ut the lion cubs sure had other ideas and circled her
I nstead she found that no way could she leave them

Lovers On the Sun
David Guetta said it best

Mine has no cowboys, horses or guns
Mine is just us two
Just the way we met under this sun
Walking the streets of Nairobi
Exploring the city's day and night
Drinking cold beers
Mostly listening to your stories and dreams
Napping to you reading poetry to me
Watching your goofy dance that one night
The three moods that made us: the anticipation, the excitement and the continuing wonder.
Keeps the shine on......
