Free-wheeling Through Africa
Just climb onto the back of my Harley
And we shall ride to the songs of Bob Marley,
   In no time at all
   We'll be in Senegal,
Though I might stop for lunch in Kigali....

Nigel and Me
Nigel likes to talk about planes
And trains and motorbikes.
He has a few friends
Who like the same.
I say to him: "Why does the piston go up and down?"
He tells me,
But I don't really understand.
I go back to my poetry books
And let my imagination soar.
While Nigel gets on his bike and makes it roar....

Forgotten Venice
You grin, the Kodachrome is Venetian-dusk. The photograph still perishing from its vintage exposure. On the back of the image, bleeding to invisibility, a telephone number. The London area code is quaint, only a young man on a ‘Triumph’ motorbike could trace it now. I still want to try.

K-iss the fog farewell,
H-aze and mist are gone;

M-orning meets the dawn.

M-idnight moon has turned

G-ray clouds Wednesday fade,

Or is that second hand?

What’s yours?
Chaucer trotted on a horse
John Betjeman via choo choo trains
The knowledgeable Omar Khayyam by camel
Well my preferred transport a fast motorbike
Am I mad or are we all mad?

Premium Member give me a ride
Purple hippo on a fancy new motorbike
rolled right past a toddler on at little red trike
Give me a ride! The tiny pink toddler said.
His mama heard and her face got red.

Stay with mama the hippo replied.
It won’t be long, and you can buy your own ride.
The mama looked grateful and gave him a wave.
Purple hippo is father to six, they call him Dave....

Beery Biker
After one too many beers
in the wee hours of the night,
I whizzed around town on my
motorbike, feeling light.

I zoomed into dim sidestreets
and who or what did I meet?
Deep potholes, like drunk hobos,
recklessly crossing the street!

But nastier than potholes,
the pavement was a different case.
It leaped and stood bolt upright
and slammed hard against my face !!...

Mason
From the day you arrived we fell in love
Little did we know the boy you'd become
From first word to first steps
A bright future is what we expect

Riding along on your motorbike
Reading the Hairy toe a million times
You and your sister are so alike

That smile
That glint in your eye
That giggle
That Mr Grumpy face

Our little champ
Our dinosaur
Our juggernaut
The final piece of our jigsaw...

Heading Home
I'm a teenager in a convent boarder's uniform, wool coat buckled tight.
Brother a college student in town, both heading home for the weekend. Holding tight to his waist, leaving all stuffiness behind as we speed off on his motorbike.

green fields fly by us

we will take the back roads home

             rebels with a cause

Next Christmas
Every year for Christmas, my family give me stuff
Like socks and scarves and underwear, it's just not good enough
I drop big hints, a clue or two of what I'd really like
A trip afar, a sporty car a Harley motorbike
But all I get each Christmas is something I can wear
A silly game, a photo frame, it really isn't fair
So next year I will tell them, and I know that they will moan
Forget my Christmas presents I'm going to get my own...

Plane Bike
Plane Bike
There was a man who was mad
He screwed wings onto a motorcycle
And went flying up high
The engine turned the prop
That was at the back

And the front was a rudder
His rear passenger was thin
For his plane bike was slow
With a 125cc engine
Going from A to B

No rush here 1500 feet up
Motorbike made plane
Land take the wings off
Ride where you want
No rush here...

Happy Teachers Day
A teacher is gods other form,
When you meet her you will immediately warm,
To her appearance and her likes
You'll be so eager to meet her in school,
You will come on a motorbike

God has blessed us in the holiest way
We need not show love in the form of a bouquet

From the early years, DP and so on,
The remembrance of such teachers to us belong
So try and be good everyday
Wish you a

Blood and Mist
Travelling from the hospital,
a nurse was decapitated.

A wire had been strung over
the dusty road that led to town.
The bandit robbed her mangled torso
and took her motorbike.

If we had found him,
we would have shot him
and buried him in a ditch,

Back then, everyday-monsters
drifted like hill mist
in that part of Northern Thailand.

We also appreciated that the devil
rode a Suzuki just like us,
a pretty girl sitting behind him,
singing sweet songs....
