A Mother's Day Memory
Made me love the word of mind
On Moby Dick and Pinocchio time.
Tripping to a Radio City line.
Her hand at the fair I find.
Easing the stress of yet-to-be.
Resting, now, in the Earth, the sea....

A Whale Tale
a fairy tale
about a whale
not Moby Dick
he's pretty thick
one that's misunderstood
must have heard in childhood
didn't play in those whale games
saw his folks burning in flames
remember this whale without a name
he swims our seas without any blame...

King Kong vs Moby Dick would make a good flick
King of the jungle vs. King of the sea
How exciting that would be
Moby swimming to that island
King Kong diving into the sea
Turns out it was all just an allegory
All made up by, You guessed it
Jada Pinket Smith
Oh what a story that was...

Old Moby
It’s like I am in a life raft,
the lone survivor of a really bad sea poem.
“Ship ahoy,” exclaims a parrot in my head.
Reluctantly I start rowing toward a new salty tale.
What else can I do?
I’m out here surrounded by talking fish.
Perhaps one day
I will learn to translate a few bubbles,
make a few waves
before old Moby gets me....

DICK
Big whale Dick
Poor soul red hollows
Death, harpoon, strikes
HARPOON STRIKES
Harpoon strikes
The whale wails
A little water added to the brine
SEA BRINE
Whale's blood
warm as your daughter
Your harpoon kills her sibling
SIBLING
My whale brother
Is your meat so soft?
Your fat lights Faroe.
MOBY
Mariners
Mars and Venus
Moby Dick....

Sonograms In Space
We are like whales,
Bleating out coordinates, thoughts
Communicating through our mediums
Touching through internal sound

Moby Dick is my poisonous pride
Aghast, I will chase the prize
With bugle call and torn ship
Never stopping....

She reaches through the screen
I cannot understand what she says
Of the future
But i can hear her heart bleating
As we merge beyond words...

Premium Member White Whale
In oceans deep, the white whale sings
He seeks a mate to ease his pain
His song, it plays on our heart strings
As Moby Dick searches in vain

Such loneliness no whale can feign
For he’s the last of “great white” kings
Angry, no love can he attain
Casting hapless ships ‘neath waves’ rings

Holiday Season
Pets are busy! Fowls are busy!
Bubbly Bunny, Classy Coney!
Go in a hurry, jump in a scurry!

Modest and merrier Moby
Decent and dandyish Duffy
Baking pastry, lovely candy

Adding honey, made it tasty
Turned sticky, frosted heavily
Juicy! Choosy! Dainty! Yummy!

Master Mickey, Kooky Kitty
Made the kitchenette fussy
Looking busy but not hasty

What's it all for? There's a reason
Remember, it's a holiday season!

PLACE : 1st...

Battle For the High Seas
Lo and Behold

A Subterranean grip

Alas a woman's mass appears in this Word Trip

She cries for Ahab to head ashore "Give the creature the slip"!

Avast a wide mast unfurls across the ship

The Captain's cries for the harpoon are drowned out by the cracked whip

The wondrous size of the White Whale appears from the drip

The sheer weight of the beast causing the schooner to flip

The showdown is on

between Captain Ahab and Moby Dick...

Premium Member Marionettes of Pied
You motormouths, that pull the strings of life,
Marionettes of Pied that seek confusion.
Your piper teeth are chattering with strife,
Like a Jedi, with wave of hand delusion
“Come one! Come all!” the ringleader twists knife.
The press buries the truth, besets illusion.
The circus clown smiles whilst Hans-ing fairy whales,
Marionettes of Pied with Moby-Dick-sized tales.

Who Dares Rouse Leviathan
Who dares rouse Leviathan,
the Giant beneath the heaving deeps?
This world now teams with Ahabs
whose heaping anger never sleeps.
Each one wants to hook its jaw
and each to press its tongue;
to try its rich and fragrant oil
and see it bound and beached and dumb.

Poor soul captains on fragile ships
vainly sharpening the barbless spear.
The Whale scoffs beneath the waves,
rising to teach all wisdom through fear.

Soon the Brute will breach and blow
and send each Pequod down below....
