non binary

I never try my hardest,
makes me look like a show-off,
kick back and rot with the pack,
glimpses of it is all you will see.

But when you do,
jetattura will drop your jaw,
write off a skeleton face,
onto a scroll of culture.

How Do I Know

how do I know what's out there
if I settle for what is here
how can I find all I'm looking for
unless I leave the door ajar
will I know it when I see it
will I feel it and believe it
I can't just sit back, kick back
and let it find me

It Was Some Night

Alone with my thoughts at dawn's light
It was some night
Can't remember
Did I blunder?

I can see her face in my mind
Time to unwind
Kick back a bit
Did I commit?

I'll give her a call later on
Hope it's no con
She is a prize
Did I tell lies?

The only certainty is that there is no certainty
The only security is that there's none
The only to make it through this roller-coaster of a life
is to make sure to kick back and have ---

When your stumped
really really lost
imagine your dreams
taking off! Play hookey!

The Media

Lines seem tangled, reality seems mangled
Oh there no source of reality with the media's dimension
The news only brings me tension
Bring me good news
Screw that negative trash
that stuff only brings me the blues
I just want to kick back and smoke my stash
and to hell with the rest cuz I'm doing my best.

Soap Bubble Dreams

As tiny globes they float,
Wearing a rainbow coat,
Filled with young breath they glow,
The soap bubble dreams we blow.

Pop! They burst with stranger’s touch,
In the windless sky, away from our clutch.

...Life is rife with lies we tweak,
A hideout from our miseries!
Flightless wings and wailing dreams,
Are a kick back to reality!

Premium Member Day's Sealed

~ Day's sealed ~

The sun's made its turn
   Farmer's chores almost done
It's afternoon's downside
   Kick back, stretch and yawn

Afternoon heat shimmers
   over cornstalks and hay
Nearing the end
   of another workday

Gather up some stray eggs
Feed the cows one last meal
The shadows now long
   Come sunset ~ day's sealed

Happy Birthday To Poetry Soup Poet Laureate Richard Pickett

HERE'S WISHING YOU A BUCKET OF THE BEST,
FOR HAVING REACHED THAT GOLDEN CREST,
I MYSELF CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER THAT FAR BACK,
TO THE TIME WHEN I BROKE YOUTH'S BACK...

BUT WISHING YOU THE BEST FOR THE NEXT MANY YEARS,
YOU'LL ONLY GET UGLIER AND WISER SO BELAY YOUR FEARS.
MAY YOUR HEART BE FILLED WITH JOYFUL TEARS,
MEANWHILE, KICK BACK WITH A COUPLE A BEERS.

Premium Member Loco Lyric Remix

Y yo loco loco..
Could it be wrong to kick back and just write?
What’s your passion?
I’ve gotta a lot of thoughts
I’ve got a lot of plans;
There’s a real one in your reflection,
money doesn’t make you real;
Eyes on the prize when it’s make or break,
I’m gonna take the game and change it;
Y Yo loco loco..
I’m a Kamikaze
crashing into everything;
Loco loco.. All eyes on me.

I Live In Color

Kick back,
School in full swing,
Full tilt,
Tilting off the chair,
Dye on my fingers, in my hair,
The color love, the color lust,
The color spirit, purple,
The color Obedients turn in the fall,
Lie in the swivel chair,
A computer screen in glow,
Call me a violet,
Growing in metal and cement,
Slacking off,
Looking for Ambition
I’ll start on that tomorrow…
When the sun rises and I turn red.

Premium Member Ganja Den

Welcome to Ganja Den,
The home of legal weed.
This herbal sesation,
Flowered from magic seed.

Rolled or in Gandalf's pipe,
Your trip will soon begin.
A journey that you'll love,
Alone or with a friend.

Heavenly aromas,
Waft up your grateful nose.
It's making your head spin,
And tingling your toes.

Now turn on some music,
Grab your favorite snacks.
Nobody will bust you,
So kick back and chillax.
Form: Rhyme

She Comes

A crumpled bit of paper
Dust lined creased edges
A fog of memories
Invading her heavenly sanctuary

Loud voices rape her
Moat of sheltering hedges
Adrift on wavering seas
It's better not ever really caring

Kick back haphazardly
The note disappears
She glances briefly
At a life once in happy tow

Never look at life backward
It will leave you in tears
She shrugs off regretting
And snappily turns quick to go

Kicking Back

I need to kick back
and head to the beach
this nine to five life
is really getting to me
work for five and then off two
people pulling on me
and too much to do

what I wouldn’t give for
some time in the sun
surf rolling in, no deadlines to be done
lay on the beach, let my skin tan
sleep at night under that old ceiling fan

that house by the sea just
keeps on calling me
Mexico is close, but
not as close as it could be

Premium Member A Whole Lot of Cruis’n Going On

Who could cruise on in,
play Jerry Lee?
One deck is frozen,
in disbelief. A titanic
hit off the old block.
Fingers grooving,
what a shock.
He’s not jealous
of Billy Joel,
he’s his own piano man.
I took a seat, many
took an aisle, caught
off guard
by the talent.
Don’t know his name
like Princess does,
but I wish I could
go back in time
and kick back
on those kickin’ keys.*

*kicking - actively ongoing and enjoyable

Premium Member Homesickness

Homesickness has me
Ogling old photographs,
Missing all that reminds me of home.
Echoes of a time long ago
Still, rings silently in my heart, and
I long to return to my roots and
Come home to my family:
Kick back and reclaim my youth.
Nowhere else feels like home:
Everything in the city is,
Self-serving, corrupted, or
Sexually orientated; God, I miss home!

Vacation Is Over

School's back in tomorrow!
We're all so sad today.
Summer went too quickly.
One last day to play.

Today let's cram in everything.
Let's swim and then play ball.
There's 12 more hours of vacation left!
Let's try to do it all!

Let's go deep in the woods.
We have to take a hike.
Then we'll go find dirt hills
and jump them with our bike!

The summer may be over
but we've still got today.
Let's kick back and enjoy it
cause they can't take this away!
