A Whole Lot of Cruis’n Going On

Who could cruise on in,
play Jerry Lee?
One deck is frozen,
in disbelief. A titanic
hit off the old block.
Fingers grooving,
what a shock.
He’s not jealous
of Billy Joel,
he’s his own piano man.
I took a seat, many
took an aisle, caught
off guard
by the talent.
Don’t know his name
like Princess does,
but I wish I could
go back in time
and kick back
on those kickin’ keys.*

*kicking - actively ongoing and enjoyable

Kim, I'm with you....some music can touch us deeply and stays with us. It's rather incredible to think about the tunes.

Dear Kim, What a rollicking ride through musical nostalgia. I felt I was cruising with Jerry Lee Lewis at the Keys, evoking a sense of excitement and energy reminiscent of a bygone era of rock 'n' roll. The surprise twist at the end, with the mention of Princess and a longing to revisit the past, adds a touch of wistfulness to the celebration of music and memories. Ahh, the power of music to transport us to another time and place. Keep cruising on with your creative spirit! - Blessings, Daniel

Cruises book great talent. This poem sounds like there was a great joy in a trip. I think I'll pack some bags and go somewhere too. Thanks for a cheerful poem.

WHO-O-O-O-O-O-LE lot of shakin' goin' on, I daresay. Jerry Lee Lewis certainly was a showman. Those were the days too. How 'bout The Big Bopper and Chuck Berry. Whoa! Craaaaazy! ~ Clap for the Wolfman

If music be the food of love, play on, as Shakespeare said. I have never been on a cruise. Too much food for my health. Hugs.
