Premium Member Loneliness
The city is a passerby.

She walks along the night street,
jostled by people a hundred miles away....

Ode To Jason
Jostled by the wind
A leaf falls from the tree
Stays for a moment
Only to be carried away again
Never to return...

Night Calls
Me.

On back porch, I jostled
Against time.

I saw
Night
Overcame day,

Intriguing
The footsteps
Of my
Barren sigh; and

As I met
Midway
My sleep,
The phone
Buzzed; someone interviewed my heart....

Jamaica - Pleiades
Join me in paradise
jostled loose from my dreams.
Journey to barefoot sands.
Jewels of turquoise gleam,
jaunting free in warm waves.
Jacaranda-kissed breeze
jogs memories of love.

Liturgy
There is so much to taste:
a religious surfeit
gives me indigestion.

Jostled by a crowd of words
I seek just who I am
in relation to the Word.

Give me space, some quiet,
room to breathe the Holy.

The Word made flesh is enough
on which to feed - together....

jaunty jack-o-lantern joined
jingly jangly janitors’ July jamboree

jaundiced Jasper, Jack’s jackhammer
juggled and jostled the journey in jovial jollity.

Jovial Jukebox Julep juxtaposed Jasper and Jack’s
jonquils, joining the July Jubilee

Javelin, a jazzy jaybird, jangled Judy’s jaguar,
who jabbered jokingly and jauntily....

A mother sat and watched her daughter playing
with the other girls, whose parents had also come to watch
the performance. They gathered in clumps, chatting brightly,
awaiting the start. The girls jostled each other,
giggled, and high-fived.

Saltating Grains
Each impact is a click that echoes briefly,
then is lost into the rush and roar of close encounters.

Each grain moved by flowing fluid into turbulent shear,
jostled by unseen, unexpected bursts of confined chaos.

Lifting, pushing, pulling, releasing, falling, touching,
and settling into beds of like size to rest,...

while the echoes drift away....

Labyrinthine
LABYRINTHINE

An injected nanobot in the bloodstream
I am now swept along by the constant flow
And I transmit what I see back to the team
They can see what I see, wherever I go
Jostled by red and white blood cells, thick as cream
If I come across a blockage, then we’ll know
Labyrinthine, with tiny capillaries
My feedback will determine how bad it is...

Premium Member Fame Will Ruin Everything
Fame will ruin everything!
Just ask
Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton
They paid for it
with their happiness,
their lives.
They yearned for it
and once
it was achieved
they couldn't handle it,
let it get
the best of them.
So be careful of
what you strive for
because it
could cost you
more than
can be imagined
in this jostled
situation that
we exist in....

The Lost Bell
Out of the provinces, lies my line...
Toiling the toxic night,
Nightmarish lackey of the routine...

I, child of the leaves...
Left the soil,
My Memsahib detached...

My soul beats the sidewalk,
A drain to a city's sidewall...

Am a volatile turbine,
Urging my soul to rest in the shed,
Away from the jostled shadows...

Losing time,
I lose the fragrance of the sunshine....

Premium Member Startled By Strangeness
Listen to poem:
Let me be open to be startled
to let the unexpected in,
to be surprised, astonished, shocked,
wide open to action happening in peripheral view.
Let me be open to strangeness
by looking for difference and oddity
with laser cutter eyes
slicing away the clutter
of mundane sameness.
Let me be startled by strangeness,
glad to be jostled and jangled,
disturbed and wrangled
to action and reaction,
by being receptive
and willingly open....

Thanksgiving
Sunday is here again
And the troops are marching
In drones to feast
At the feet of their Lord
Gaiety is in the air
Everyone looking their best
A kiss here, a salutation there
Gone are the worries and cares
Some come afoot
Others drive and zoom
Dust and smoke become mixed
With scented gases in the atmosphere
Picking my way among the crowd
I jostled for a seat and pondered
Over the insanity of people with
Rotten souls encased in glamorous clothes....
