Night Calls

Me. 

On back porch, I jostled 
Against time.

I saw 
Night 
Overcame day,

Intriguing 
The footsteps
Of my 
Barren sigh; and

As I met
Midway 
My sleep,
The phone 
Buzzed; someone interviewed my heart.
