A Simple Distinction

"Shadow" leaves me thinking negative jibes
overheard in rebuke and rejection -
run away in fear.

"Shade" gives me those sweet, more positive vibes
open, as in relief, relaxation -
it's safe over here.

Joking

Jollity lifts spirits.
		Joshing’s great. Let’s hear it!
		Jocose friends who, with wit,
jazz things up are a hit!
		Jabs can be unnerving;
		jibes can be self-serving.
		Jesting must be gentle.

Jeers

Jibes flew across as sharp
         jutting arrows stabbing
jolts chilling blood curdling
        jarred sensibilities
Juxtaposed between sects
       jagged edged racial slurs
jettisoned global peace

Congratulations, Clyde

For eighteen months Clyde had been overseas

Spouse wrote she was having twins, if you please

Nine months for each, he counted

         Jibes by pals he discounted

With the gestation time he was at ease

Funny Thing Is

gusts of raucous laughter
greet wide smirk jesters coruscating flippant jibes
sought after

humour in train
punchlines on cue evoke swell vibes
heal pain

quips now
stoke fun-starved tribes
wow

gusts of raucous laughter
punchlines on cue evoke swell vibes
wow

I Love You, I Love Us

What I love about you, is all of you...

Your crazy quirks
Your nasty hurts
Your loving kiss
Your gentle ness
Your funny jibes
Your many sides...
I love each and every one
I love to make up when all's said and done.
I love that feeling of your tender touch
I love that we love each other so very much!

Hush the blush

If mind is in control, we remain constrained,
anchored in fires of dark desires and deep fears,
so how then may we be from ego unchained,
free from taunts and jibes of our thought demon’s jeers?
First things first, for love and light to be ingrained,
we must be still, so that when God’s presence nears,
we resist not influx of bliss magnetism,
igniting from head to toe, mind-body prism.

Zen Mode

uplinking to the world spiritual
shifts focus away from materialism
it is a choice we make and adhere to
becoming over time innate affinity
so the universe takes care of us

skills possessed no longer matter
knowing all attributes are illusionary
yet in as ordained we play out our role
as does a virtuoso actor on stage
indifferent to jibes and praise

we are not the doer
God alone is the mover

Salt

You hound me for no reason
With much envy you’re consumed
You see my disappointment
Yet rub salt into my wound.

You pick on my emotions
Make me out to be a jerk,
You hover with a swagger
Comments passing with a smirk.

I hold to my composure
For I know I’m not at fault
Your jibes I will now take them
With a little pinch of salt.

Youth

Being dyslexic shouldn't be a white technicians affair
or an exile to a specialist boarding school
I haven't an insurmountable problem
I've enough skills already
I have an acute History knowledge
just by discussing it with my Dad
I can tag cars and planes for my drawings
it's annoying being unable to pronounce
words i cant spell
or withstanding my sisters jibes
Yet it is always Mother dearest
coming to my emotional rescue
when the panning got out of hand

Stoic Stance

hot and humid, energy drained
with mosquito menace to boot
why’d we worry, we feel not strained
nonchalant eye cares not a hoot

transfixed in the bliss dance within
jibes and taunts of fate matter not
the void’s our home, we dwell therein
choosing thereby, to be self-taught

one with oneness, we are at peace
following the fragrance of love
breath by breath, turning a new leaf
God’s blessings pour in from above

beholding pulse of life renew ~
heart leaves behind no residue

No Anchor For Rancour

Stirrings of heart in poems symbolised,
creations crafted as heartfelt emote,
oft by narrow minds cursorily sized,
since heart and head ride in different boats.
Nonchalant to criticism, we do float
as a bliss mist, in joyful innocence,
engaging not in this churlish parlance.
The jibes and taunts whizz by us harmlessly;
our centred presence in tranquil balance,
throbbing in rapture of love endlessly.
