Sweet Indian Tea
Hey, baby,
Tonight, can you
Wear that
Bright red
Chinese dress, because
I want to fly you
To Istanbul and Bucharest
So, we can sit at the local cafe and
Drink some sweet India Tea, and
Walking in the rain, with the one I love...

Turkey
The sun sets over Istanbul
The days are so warm
The nights quite cool
We walk along the bospheros
Hand in hand
Oh what a mystical magical land
The sun The sea The sky so blue
Turkey is the place to be
To make your dreams come true
The people are so friendly
The people really care
Go and visit Turkey
I will maybe see you there...

Istanbul
It's in sadness and sorrow do we find unity
Sometimes it easier to talk it than show it
Terrorism affect every person rich or poor
Anger it is real when it comes to your door
Nothing is so remote in the modern world
But let us remember those who have died
Until we trully decide to fight the terrorist
Lives will continue to so brutally taken again...

Istanbul 'Da Ask
Bir daha gelsem dunyaya Istanbulda
Sehrazatlarin atlari kosturur mu ruyalarimi

Bir girdaptir askim dalgalarin solugunda

Dogmamis her nepze sensiz koklanan erguvana hasret
Tasirmi yuregim sensiz ciga dusmus martilarin kanatlarini

Bir ucurum sensizlik goge donmus yasemin poyrazinda
Her nefesimde dus desem yuregime lodosun tersden eser...

Dreams For Sale
Dreams for Sale

Hey, this guy’s crazy, nuts and frail,
He says he’s got dreams for sale.
Maybe they’re hopeless, pale and stale.
He claims they’re gorgeous, wild and vibrant;
There’s no room or reason to quail.

I kind of hesitate to buy any,
‘cause I’ve already got so many.
Besides should I wish to sell them back,
What fool would give them a penny.

Istanbul Ruhumda
Yildizlarin elimde ucar
Gozlenmis anilar gune durmus
Egirdesi gunum gerkefinde nakis
Bir yudum su karlarinda erimis yuregim

Nefesinde dogmus gun
Hasretine acamayan gulum
Kesmekesin binbir cumbusu
Sarildigim yar kandiller

Yedi direkler cadirimda
Yakamozlar acmis lalelere
Eritirmi karlarin gunesi sensizligi
Raksa sevgi serefesi minarelerin

Incirler tirmanmis mihrabin duvarlarina
Dalgalarin kucaklar gerkefimi...

Close up, secrets uncovering
I find myself hovering over
a modern, optical microscope
Out of focus (coarse adjustment)
Blurred image corrected,
revealing… clear-felled trees?
Sharper detail (fine adjustment)
Microscope mesmerizing as colors burst
Scale thickness less than 0.55 micron
Small rake angle and smoothness
implies low friction coefficient
Light permanence even, shadowless—
Finest quality from Istanbul
Wish I had a roomful...

This Life
This Life

I can’t make head or tail of this life
with so many puzzles and riddles, it’s rife
enigma within enigma, intertwined with mysteries
tainted and misty yesterday, shrouded in twisted histories

Neither a sinner with a future, nor a saint with a past
scarred with vices and blessed with virtues
I seized a moment to pause and reflect, at last
but just when I started to have glimpses
sadly, I saw that the die had been cast.

Dec. 2012, Istanbul...
