Brash the dark-sea sounds
stars steer the gleaming wave's blades
the impending clash
The nights grow even
colder when I realize
I've spent too much time
screaming at your shadows and
waiting for a miracle
Autumn brought me here
among fallen leaves and hopes
to regain my peace,
amidst the impending storms
to find dignity, and you.
On misty waters
Beholding sharp brilliant force
I wait the coming
Guiding Light--Contest Poem

tonight red wine swirls in glass
my last guilty pleasure soothes
as impending diet looms
... it's not on the list
The sky warmly hugs the stars from the weeping moon, as the moon
fearfully watches the world slowly crumbling, warning of impending doom.
NO ONES TALKING, EVERYONE IS SILENT
AS WE WAIT FOR THE IMPENDING STORM TO BREAK
NO ONE MOVES , WE SIT IN FEAR
WAITING FOR THE WAR TO BEGIN
Impending shadow
As sun hides behind dark clouds
Lurk as a menace
Trying to rob inner peace
Winning unexpected trials

Evening shadows
show eerie dark faces
following me home,
watching my guarded
steps as an owl hoots
to warn me of impending
danger so close.

Blood curdles
the entire room just startles;
Floating a banshee howls loud
proud;
Dire message
of an impending passage;
Not a thing could make this curse
worse.
A tender touch-
are we asking to much
for love to last, let's say,
a month, a week, a day?
Ageless love-
impending time;
So rare!
So precious!
So divine!
shining way up high, rays descend
unrelentingly to earth
nothing escapes the hot
scorching, burning heat.
hills and dales.

Imagine.
The smell of a baby
days from the womb.
The smell of a rose
when it's in full bloom.
The smell of a corpse
exhumed from its' tomb.
The smell of fear
and its' impending doom.

Autumn skies beckon
As ochre intermingles
With battleship greys
Silhouetted shapes
Against the impending bleak
Declare summers end

Long life, lived in full, longing for death's impending embrace;
my fate's final freedom wavers on two fronts, like old Simeon's.
Departure's deep desire is delayed by a first great grandchild.

There are two visions
The irresponsible bygone
And the impending
Together they disappoint…big
As we just live in the now.

Violent young men
Use the religion of Islam
To commit misdeed
So very sad, how our past seems abandoned
A warning of what's ahead, of what we've been handed
Of the impending doom
Entering the next room
Though it feels like forever, never take things for granted
I hear sirens of my demise
wailing in the distance,
warning me of impending doom,
their strangling tune
discordant and angry,
marching toward certain death,
reaper’s fingers, an ancient breath,
and I have nowhere to hide.

Sign Of The Times
Surely
Ignorance is bliss,
Going about
Not knowing
Of impending
Finality.
Times end.
Happy knowing
Each day
Together
Is special.
Messianic times.
Earnestly search your
Soul.

wrapped in hypocrisy
cruel unspeakable horrors
of heinous crimes against humanity
in blatant scorn for the impending wrath of god

Hands Of Destiny
No one can predict when the final verdict of time shall be
Only the hands on the clock of my still impending destiny

A leaf,
floating downwards,
comes to rest upon grass.
Escapee cutting off the bonds,
unaware of its impending demise;
the umbilical cord severed,
now page-pressed memory;
dried skin cracking,
A leaf.
A soothsayer vigorously announced impending doom,
To the gathered townsfolk causing such gloom,
But when a lightning bolt struck
The predictor was out of luck,
Laughing, they swept him away with a broom.
Fear lies effortlessly in portending wait
to bare the intrinsic risk of chance.
View it not just as impending fate
nor play its victim by circumstance...
