Two strangers at night
Fill each other---full delight
Still unknown, their names hidden
Each heart does flutter
Giving the green to explore
Extreme passion in high gear

I'm finally slowing down after all these years
Yup! You heard it first... dragging up my rear
Had to happen
Still can't imagine
A young pup still am I rolling along in high gear

I start each day running in high gear,
but quickly slow as storm clouds appear.
Though day has started robin egg blue.
life's nagging problems to soon ensue.
Road-trippin' this Labor Day weekend
with construction season in high gear
Not much hope that the roads'll be clear
But thinking positive may just help ~
If not, watch out for my reviews on Yelp
Y'all have a nice holiday now!
New year, cold beer
Cold beer, Bronx cheer
Bronx cheer, high gear
High gear, all clear
All clear, frontier
Frontier, sharp spear
Sharp spear, blood smear
Blood smear, kill deer
Kill deer, pure fear
Pure fear ~
Get outta here
Let me think for a moment,
Instead of jumping into high gear,
Speeding into the daily tasks,
Then wondering what I missed!
In those first morning moments,
Calm down, reflect on the gift that has been given.
Listen while this home is still quiet.
Everything will take on a different hew.
Archie Bunker Loves Crackers
Crackers are white
what's not to love
Crackers are simple food
for simple minds
Archie sits in his chair
rants against liberals
races
and humanity
Some think he passed on
for every fool gone
another will appear
even from down under
Where hatred is running in high gear
R-ace at maximum speed,
O-utrun anyone on the road;
D-ouble your efforts to win,
E-mploy the fuel that you
L-oad.
M-aximum speed is necessary,
A-s judgment day draws near;
R-echarge your life with faith,
I-ncluding hope in high gear.
N-ovember thirteenth Monday,
A-llow your trust to exceed;
S-witch your long journey at maximum speed.
Used to think that happiness
Was contingent upon striving
If only we can obtain ______
Then we’ll really start thriving
Leads us to chasing our tail
Continually stuck in high gear
Yet there's a path to clear the air
To make the grasping disappear
Take stock of what we have now
Notice the pieces are already in place
To invite happiness to our doorstep
If we embrace today and end the chase
G-ood morning light shines,
A-fter the mist fades away;
V-ile weather has turned
I-nto a cool pleasant day.
N-ineteenth February, night shadows disappear;
O-n this special occasion, the beacon ascends in high gear.
S-ee the dawn comes rising,
A-s the dusk passes by;
R-ain suddenly stops falling,
M-aking azure the black sky.
I-nto the deepest darkness
E-vening haze has hidden;
N-ever mind the fog and smog,
T-he celebration is now
O-pen.
Christmas is over for another full year
And I am ready to shift into high gear
Hoping 2022 will bring lots of good cheer
What’s that? Did I hear a sarcastic jeer?
Hoping an end to this Covid is near …,
And we will no longer be living in fear.
I am rather optimistic about the future,
Thinking it will have a redeeming feature
Be an enabler for the good of our culture,
Show the better side of our human nature.

Lucky at the race of wit
Implicit you must admit
Clicking heels no time to sit
Kick into high gear to split
Energized quite opposite
Teasing like a hypocrite
Yelling at shadows moonlit
Spry vocals you will emit
Pirouettes so exquisite
Linger not without permit
Impulsive to infinite
Twinkle toes lickety split

Why now a bad left ear?
With it not faint sounds hear,
Unless the makers near,
My interest in high gear…
But why: Once-Good Ear?
The next man knows my fear:
Some foe would at me jeer:
Men I’d failed to buy beer!
Gosh! A Real Bad left Ear,
In my Middle Ear Sear:
Towards Ear Drops now steer,
Aches wielding monstrous spear,
Who might save my left Ear?
Oh! Some nurse should me cheer,
To whom both ears are dear
All picked sounds should be clear,
Or I can’t glad face wear.
