Heinz the Gambler
There once was a gambler called Heinz,
Who needed to pay off his fines;
The right numbers he got
For the lotto jackpot -
Alas all on different lines.

*My experience with the lottery last week...

In Heinz Sight
“in Heinz sight”

way back
when
the

beginning began
bingo was
yelled

at and
instead
of beano

but beano
is used
to

reduce rudeness
that tries to
be or

not
to be
expelled...

My Heritage
My heritage is a mixture
Of backgrounds. Let's start on
My Dad's side of the family.

My Dad's mom is Irish and English.

My Dad's dad is Irish and German.

My Mom's mom is Scottish and Irish.

My Mom's dad is blood Hungarian.

So in other words,
I'm a mutt! or as others say,
"Heinz 57!"...

Premium Member An Iowan Takes On a Nebraskan Beef Eater
I will have my steak gruesomely rare.
Eating mine with Heinz 57 flare.
I am from I-O-WAY
I do not play.
I can eat a cow, a horse and a mare.

I am from Nebraska don’t you know?
You Iowans can brag, and you can blow
But here’s my rule
You little fool
I’ll eat whatever does not start to go....

Premium Member invited to casserole
Casserole was unpalatable
I did not ask for the recipe
Some of the ingredients I barely recognizing
Who puts mashed potatoes with green beans?

Would ketchup have added to it? Did it need onions?
Would Heinz 57 have saved it or at least made it better?
I smiled at my hostess, and pushed the slop around on my plate.
Noting the others were doing the same thing.

So it was not just me…....

Imagine
Imagine

Yellow socks tambourines pretty girls and fax machines
Sunshine waves Heinz baked beans and black tinted windowed limousines
Garbage anarchy wasps that sting and red currant jam potting magazines
Madness purity wedding rings and watching Mary Berry’s tips on the finest
cuisines
Ice cubes tweed ping pong pings and the gold dust of a magic monkey blowing
over your sleeping dreams...

Premium Member The Painting On My Wall
Every time
My eyes fall
Upon the painting
On my wall
Its country track
Reaches out
To the floor
Wanting
Calling
My feet to befall
To kick up the dust
As it guides me thus
To the ancient gum tree
Up the track
Past the old burnt fence
The dry creek
Meanders hence
I imagine
I’d sit
In the murmuring grass
And write a poem
About my furthering
Passed
