The Court handed down, their judgment found
And then the Law was done

Blank verse
Fear, like prejudice,
should not be handed down
To fallow the orchard
—or barren the ground

Today I’m thankful for our ability to laugh…
one of the many gifts handed down from our creators above….
and I pray all our laughter is genuine…
and spring forth from a place of love.

The story goes, so I’ve been told
Tales handed down from days of old
That when we die our soul migrates
And we’re transformed to other states
If that’s the case, when I’m reborn
I want to be a Unicorn

I do not know?
sleep eluded for such a long time
I guess I was tired of what life handed down
never content, never assured
of what my future held
now I surrender and dream sweet dreams
the sleep of angels, I have found
nestled in the warmth of your body
in the protection of your love

Authors of the scriptures remain unknown,
wisdom penned handed down from the ages,
pointing out the way each must walk alone,
escaping illusionary cages
and quelling fire that within heart rages.
All Upanishads have a simple aim:
to entwine us with God, in life’s end game.

You are the path
you follow
it came from life
It came from Grace
Handed down
through
the human race
Spoken to
given to know
the difference is their own
minds sometimes
alone
With thoughts and dreams
Laid out
in a wrinkled line of REM
Left and right
the two of them

Prayed for courage
And in return was given porridge
Topped with salt instead of sugar
And water for milk
Cooked in a kitchen of filth
To be eat out of a chipped saucepan
With plastic chopsticks for cutlery
Tracing help into forage ferrell wild oats
The holy father's sins
Handed down to his children

Forrest of faces
Flanked by rainment fine,
Appear in many places
Up and down the line.
Stories beyond the scope are told,
Music from mindfull deeps,
Emotons handed down form "old"
Coming forth in leaps.
Energy from the ladies and sirs
Merge with flawless ease,
I feel the touch of many hers,
And I'm in love with these.

Father, forgive me for I have sinned...
I confess it all, repenting complete
penance handed down from a curtained confessional
kneeling, I beg for Your forgiveness
vowing to tread a righteous path
knowing in my heart, as I depart
I will still wrong others
that Satan always comes creeping back
and tonight, I will sin again

Brother worry,
Sister rain,
Mother darkness,
Father pain.
You can pick your friends,
But not your family,
How did this begin?
Handed down to me.
When will the sun return?
Looking for the light,
Hanging on,
Until my world is right.
Searching for relief,
How did my darkness start?
The day you left me,
And broke my heart.

A moment at night
Something fall outside the door
Sparkling gem so bright
Pick up a shovel
Whilst getting to melt soil
Held it on my hand
Can't utter a word
Vibrant hue and glow persists
Turns to diamond.
As its warmth persists
It suddenly fall while glows
Keep shinning afar
Old woman get it
Handed down on my palms then
Become one with me.

ode to the Orchid
A summers day . an orchid like no over catches my eye,
Petals heavenly shades of violet and pink entwined,
The vivid cloulers a divine taste of paradise handed down from gods,
Surely A portrait of the luxurious treasures that await us all in the afterlife,
O to stay and gaze at this beauty all day,
But night draws and ends my love affair with the orchid.

I do not know?
We persecute
Punish ourselves
Then accept whatever sentence
Handed down to us
For merely showing human kindness
Which we equate to weakness
Knowing also full well
We have absolutely no
And there is no form
Of appeal
Or salvation
For those of us amongst us who
Try and care
Yet it never seems to get us anywhere
But in the dock
Standing accused

She placed her apron tightly on
it hid her nightly gown
and gently whisped the recipe
from ages handed down.
She tweeked many recipes,
if they were not her own
became her families fav chef
the best they ever known.
She's a wife, sister and Mother,
Some day a Grandma too
and someday her recipes
will be handed down to you.

I prayed,I prayed,
Almighty God,
Wisdom I need,
I believed,
Had no doubt,
And wisdom was,
Handed down indeed,
Wisdom was lonely,
So I went back to Him,
And this time He bestowed,
Understanding,
Wisdom and understanding,
Roll hand in hand,
One the idea,
The other the plan,
A little greedy,
I am back again,
I need expression,
So I can express,
Wisdom and understanding,
To my family and friends....

Verse
It's warm, it's calm - there is a feeling of change
long before the evening shadows lengthen.
Even before the clouds have gathered,
the westerlies; they quietly rise then strengthen.
The stag trees can be counted one by one above the forest.
Handed down experience supports
the range, drawing closer in a different hue
that rain is on the way -
when the mountains paint their deepest blue.

I have had many gifts
Throughout my life
But none can be compared to the one's
That was handed down to me, from the one above
Gifts so awesome
Gifts so rare
Something I can hold
That is truly dear.
A Daughter so kind
That is one of a kind
A Son so determine
Not to be his mother everyday burden
Treasures so unique
Children so sweet
These are the treasures
We should cherish and keep.

The battle well fought,
Blood drips from the blade.
Clans kill each other,
A grave history made.
Women and children weep,
Men driven by fear.
Prejudice handed down,
Death year after year.
The torch forever blinds,
The flame of hatred burns.
A sad lesson taught,
But no one ever learns.
With malice in their hearts,
The war will never end.
The righteous always rise,
To do it once again.

Not always but
The Search is often
Engaged In writings
Of the past..
Such writings may be
Handed down from
Sages who have
Weathered the criticisms
Of the centuries..
A deference to their
Words is accepted
As the search ensues..
There seems also
The appearance of
A realization that
All of this is story
Equal to other stories
Of searching in
Other climes...

Light Verse
I almost failed a test
handed down to me
I admitted I am often a slave
but I want to be free.
Free to be His wife
as I'd promised I'd be;
slaves don't choose their fate
accepting His ring is the key.
Not a key on a keyboard
one that calls to me
even when I sleep,
it robs my memory!
No. One that opens a gate
one that fills my heart with glee
where all my loved ones are
for all eternity.

When we fell in love,
No more to be alone.
It was a gift from God above,
Handed down from His throne.
No more to be alone,
We became one flesh.
Handed down from His throne,
Our spirits to refresh.
We became one flesh.
Nothing can part us but death.
Our spirits to refresh,
Until our final breath.
Nothing can part us but death.
Our union is like the dove.
Until our final breath,
When we fell in love.

Take me to the hill
from which the rainbow rises
to pay ancestors’ tribute.
Share the memories
handed down by mighty chiefs,
warriors who loved the land.
Harmony once reigned
between their tribes and nature
until white men invaded.
Interstates now run
through our backyards -- urban sprawl.
Endangered is our future.

Not even its oceans could cleanse Macbeth’s guilt,
Etched into palms and cut into lifelines, within skin everlasting.
Poisonous serpents twist like gaseous clouds acrid, in a helix of
Trust doubled, betrayed by a cousin valiant no more.
Unknown and unseen, unjust and unkempt - a fate handed down unanimous.
Nocturnal damnation circling circling, that coven three upon a heath
Erupting at the manipulation of a man come undone.
