Earth,
Planet
Of carbon
Life forms; spins fast,
Three sixty five days
And half, a year.
Freely spins;
Happy
Ball.
With a handful of spinach
three stalks celery
a delicious red apple,
half a cucumber,
a little ginger,
just juice it
Fresh!
The elderly,
are very much like zombies.
They are both slow when they walk,
and given half a chance, both will chew your ear off.
half a cigar on a full day.
saxophone plays on the street kissed with rain.
lonely headlights eclipse the night,with a slow
passing car.
I was clean shaven when I
spotted a snail going by
I watched for a while
as he went half a mile
now my beard's reaching down to my thigh
I have read:- Half set of genes
Kids borrowed from the father side.
Of sudden news I badly winced.
Just half a wits passed to my child!
A Smidgen 2
Haiku: by Tom
December 14, 2020
A smidgen of salt;
one thirty second teaspoon,
or, just half a pinch.
A man, half a mountain of hair,
Gave Cupid a bit of a scare.
He wasn't a knave,
He just didn't shave,
A heart that was rare did he share.
He's skipping
To fourth grade
After the break
He's skipping
Half a year
And it has
Brought us cheer
2 c what
He knows
2 c how
He's grown
The Trumpster is going, thank God
I have always considered him odd
with just half a brain
he drove us insane
on the path he should never have trod
A salad roll sits upon my plate,
All garden fresh and there to be ate;
I didn’t taste a bug
But saw half a slug...
My observation has come too late.
Two hearts
So it starts
And having begun
Makes two hearts one
Love most precious
Should it depart
Leaves each lover
With half a heart
Today
I read a newspaper,
In it was half a column
On a people starving and dying,
The rest of it was :
Photos,
Crossword puzzle,
And faded letters.
When Lady Gaga's French bulldogs
Stoked half-a-million squealing hogs
The canine corps
Knocked on her door
With countless tails like pollywogs . . . .
Two garden snails met by the way,
and one of them had this to say;
“Last night I did manage,
to eat half a cabbage,
now I feel a mite ‘sluggish’ today”.
In ripe mango golden pulp
Pour cream half-a-cup
Mix a few shredded mint leaves
Add spoonful honey
Blend with ice, I make
Summer drink
Grand.
Sixteen hours ahead of time
you sleep in my tomorrow
a half a world apart
I loving you – iambic rhyme
long pierced by Cupid’s arrow
another has your heart.
Tickle me bum and call me Lucy
Everything's loopy and totally groovy
Lost half a pound
Look great in a gown
Next I'll star in a Hollywood movie
Without a wife, I'm half a man
without a life, with no game plan
Without children, partners come unglued
~ 'course that can happen, with children too
Well tickle me bum and call me Lucy
Everything's loopy and totally groovy
Lost half a pound
Look great in a gown
Next stop Hollywood to make a movie
Well tickle me bum and call me Lucy
Everything's loopy and totally groovy
Lost half a pound
Look great in a gown
Next I'll star in a Hollywood movie
We spent a lifetime together
In that single moment
Before we had to part
And I’ve spent every single moment
From that day onward
Living with half a heart
~~~~~~~
Listen to poem:
skies ablaze
i hold my breath
time in slow motion
surreal and primal
half a world away
i recognize the silence
yet can't forget you
AP: Honorable Mention 2022
Logan’s such a beast
he mowed over me at least half a dozen times
when we played tackle football by the tracks today
“If you’re such a beast, run over there and stop that train!”
Fright In love is vain,
I dreaded to be a memory.
My Fall was tranquil, her Smile
impeccable, it rendered me poignant.
Too stoned to worship her imperfections
a statue I became.
