Warm Sniffles

fireflies together
porchlight only half a cheek
a spoon so mysterious
over the candle —
girl knows not yet to use fire
but tears save something special

Welcome back, Paige! You have carefully crafted this poem to reflect images of light and dark, tears and sniffles, fire and fireflies. Wonderfully done. Blessings. Hope all is well.

It's nice seeing you back. Am I imagining this, but didn't you use to have more poems posted?

Warm sniffles. So interesting. I am a girl who can't use fire. If I try to light a match, I instinctively drop it on the ground , so I have never on my life lit any birthday candles

Your imagery leans heavily on soft light sources—fireflies, a porchlight, and a candle—creating a warm, intimate setting that contrasts with the "sniffles" and tears mentioned in the title and text. A beautiful poem.
