The Grim Reaper
Dead on his feet
After a hard day
At work,
Takes the night off.
W.A CHOLT. Copyright Fergal O Reilly. 2018. 15/10/18
The following is what others say behind my back about my driving;
"He is still alive today for only one reason.
The Grim Reaper is afraid to get into the car with him."
Her nickname perhaps should be ‘Whizzy’
She rushes round making me dizzy
Right now, she’s unwell
But asked me to tell
That grim reaper guy that she’s busy
whilst you were sleeping
the grim reaper visited ~
rest in peace
Dedicated to my Uncle Norman who passed away this morning in Thailand

I thought to see the deep blue sea
Before Grim Reaper came for me,
Alas it was not meant to be
For no amount of barter would set me free
From that appointment with eternity.
her cheerful sign said live your best life
would that be a life without any strife?
Not necessarily said the negative window peeper
Just try to stay away from the ugly grim reaper
Father Time, depicted as ‘the Grim Reaper’
House of Horrors gatekeeper
Holding a scythe, ready to strike
Where's ‘Papa,’ who loved me as a tyke?
Grim Reaper strolls in
Stands looking down at her face
She opens an eye
Then sits up in bed, scowling
Grim Reaper slinks off next door

When one becomes a billionaire
There's only so much they can spend or share
With all the perks
The grim reaper lurks
So what's all the fuss, enjoy the scenery and fresh air
D rink from this cup.
E scape into darkness.
P repare to meet your maker.
R egret nothing.
E rase all happiness.
S ever all ties.
S ee only despair.
I nvite grim reaper.
O rganise affairs.

greedy grubby grabby grimy grainy grim reaper
was angry with his wife, a wild woman on Thursday
He decided to break some rules and be a window peeker
We must report that many did not escape his wrath that day.
THE GRAVE TRUTH
It was not undertakers that fell in.
Running through a graveyard - night’s subtle sin.
Brothers in moonlight.
One slipped out of sight.
He’s the first one the grim reaper would win.

Go away, Grim Reaper. You've got more waiting to do, death
I refuse to let you rob me of this fun, beautiful life just yet
I'll continue to smell it's invigorating fragrance

Here lies the body of the grim Reaper
six foot down perhaps a lot deeper,
he fell for the devils evil little scam
sold his soul, but who gives a damn.

When you wake up, startled,
and see the Grim Reaper
Do you shut your eyes
and pretend you are still asleep?
Would this be enough to make him go away
or take someone else?
If it was a loved one, would you feel glad
or relived?
Night creature
Forsaken
Slithering
Unperceived
Charging through
Machinelike
Stealth engine
Frozen breath
Smoldering
Steely eyes
Dark life form
Growing near
Fire spitting
Dragon breath
Snuffling prey

I am scared of baby Dracula the twelve-year-old said.
What frightens you? I asked him. Staring at his pretty head.
I think it is his teeth, they are pointed, it is weird.
Being a grim reaper, I think it is amazing that this is who he feared.
Gold
is a false value
for no matter how many bars one owns,
no amount of bars can protect
one from nature and the grim reaper
money by itself can't control
the snow and rain
only wisdom and intelligence are the remaining
treasures that will last
Listen to poem:
5 Card Stud keeper
David J Walker
All of my yesterdays have been
Shuffled back into the deck
As I draw from tomorrows cards
To play against today
Can I keep a poker face
Drawing 3 for 5 card stud
Is this hand my keeper
Playing against the grim reaper
Death life’s’ adversary
Cruel selfless all about me
Discriminate no bounds
Grim reaper swallows
Another soul washed away
A child is born
Life is carried on
Love and empathy
A sad lover’s song
Dark closes in on
My hapless heart
An empty end
A fruitless start
