Immortals

were I to dwell
in Van Gogh's hat
peer down from walls
would I

or in meek words
that She, the page,
immortally

The moon speaks in phases
the sun a voice of lasers
every cloud a picture story --
write me a day, and I’ll paint
you a Starry Night.

       Golden fields driven by winds
          routes of exile, twisted sky
    tawny canvases, sad beautiful scenes!

Dutch post-impressionist Vincent Willem Van Gogh
Misunderstood genius as we all know
Did not go gently into his starry, silent night
Posthumously famous in his own right

Immersion Van Gogh
His paintings are alive
I am loving this exhibit
A virtual tour but marvelous

I think of the real Van Gogh
and how amazed he would be
at how many of us
recognize his works

Paint of Van Gogh

From a faded green life,
                the yellow dream sprouted...
                As in Van Gogh... !

Van Gogh

To place one's spirit
In one's creations
If what, far more agonized
Reflects the Divine.
If what for inner turmoil
Intenser shows up
Through what moves in vivid swirls;
Out artist's hands. Thine.

Premium Member Van Gogh Sky on Halloween Night

Halloween night has a curious sky tonight
As if Van Gogh used his paint brush with all his might
It reminds me of his famous painting Starry night
Even the cat is staring at it. It is artistic all right!

Premium Member Where Did Vincent van Gogh?

Long ago in a fine art show,
I saw, in a wheat field, an old black crow.
I asked, "Where did Vincent van Gogh?"

The bird blinked and said, "He was Hell bent.
Some say he was Heaven sent.
Who knows where Vincent van Went?"

Van Gogh - Contest

In Paris away from darker side shows his aptitude for still life. Painted with a genius brush his vases of flowers, vibrant visions are captured on his canvases. Van Gogh lives.

Premium Member Undergrowth with Two Figures - Van Gogh

Nature distorts humans
to conform to its pattern, in shape and form.
Stretching, bending, squeezing
the human form to somehow fit in,
as an odd Chameleon,
hiding out of place
distorted and misshapen,
bashfully conforming in camouflage.

The artist sees things others miss
He sketches the skyline onto a canvas
People pass by
No one looks at his drawing

Do they not see me? He wonders
Will they ever see me?
He dies wondering.
Becoming famous two hundred years after his death.
