Where Did Vincent van Gogh?

Long ago in a fine art show,
I saw, in a wheat field, an old black crow.
I asked, "Where did Vincent van Gogh?"

The bird blinked and said, "He was Hell bent.
Some say he was Heaven sent.
Who knows where Vincent van Went?"

I like that - three thumbs up! I'll probably try to steal that idea for a poem.

Top shelf clever. Imagine if we'd discovered ourselves around 20, not in our fall. You'd have a book "Wit and Humor Poetry", as PUBLISHER sought & published not self-publishing (aka, nobody cares). OR, it's easy to imagine you starting with a dedicated corner in a local newspaper that grew to national syndication, with a weekly/daily humorous write just as accumulated on your poem list. You would have kept them coming. FRIENDLY TIME WOULD HAVE BEEN THEN. Oh, the pen not picked up. Soupy.

If news was still sourced as it was for approximately half our lifetime, you'd stand a chance in local, city newspapers which is how some ended up syndicated nationally. There is no profitable source with need/interest any longer, can you think of one? It would have to be spiritual/church consider-worthy, child/book - parent worthy, etc. Comedians and comedy show used to pay for material, I wonder what happened with that?

I really hope they print my poem, because I gave them my childish drawing to accompany it, and I've never had my drawing in the paper before.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, CayCay. I asked a friend to the 5% good funny poems from the collection to make a book, but understandably, I couldn't get his interest. My biggest success is that every 3 or 4 months, I send something to the weekly newspaper for the retirement community I live in, and most of the time, they print it. I retitled my "Perhaps, A Humpty Dumpty Tale" to "Humpty Dumpty as I Knew Him" and wrote an intro, claiming that I really know him, because I'm the oldest one here. I hope they print it on the 4/2 edition, delivered on 4/1. I added a line "April Fools"
