bewitching she glared
onyx eyes
raven hair
jet black gown
graceful and sinister
with her heart of stone
and poisoned lips

If I were that girl in the photograph
They glared, they stared you had to be there
A room filled with eyes
Was not a surprise
Talk of the town but look how time flies
I pushed my homework
To stargaze with Kermit Frog toy…
Angrily, he threw my moppet
While I glared at this shadow,
Plunging from an adored throne
Like a villain.
Across the crowded room I saw your face,
I watched you as you walked around the place,
but while my peepers glared
you looked mighty damned scared...
Whoa, lady! There's no reason to spray mace!
There was a woman who glared in despair
Despair visited when she was in doubt
It sat on her chair
And swelled in her stare
As swear words from hell fell from her big mouth.

Limerick Poem
Perched oval moon glared in baleful triumph;
it’s huge, round face turned my bones to goo!
Mr. Orb’s rapt, relentless gaze raised goosebumps;
scared-goo-feet flew, ‘cause, I swear, it yelled boo!
There's an empty seat
Right in front of me
I stare in disbelief
"I know the boy
who sat right here."
But now he's in the ground.
There's an empty seat
Glared at with broken eyes
No one sleeps tonight.
They all gathered 'round some tittered others smiled
The chesty one with the long legs glared,
Nothing can be more inconsiderate than to be told "no"
Your dream is dead

I hear a gentle voice,
While my heart began to beat,
I proceeded through the soft, white, clouds,
For then we shall meet,
Our hearts started to unite ,
While we glared up at the sky,
Observing the stars constructing shapes,
Never longing to say good-bye.
I have the absolutely worst intentions sir,
This is why I am taking your daughter out.
I will do the most horrible things to her.
You will not recognize her when I am finished.
The father glared as the young man shuffled in
to say “hello” for the first time.
Halloween at the zoo
Hippo made a loud pop with his pumpkin
Piercing it with his horn
Sounded like a giant fart
The children were astounded
Because the adults could not stop laughing
The gorilla was in a bad mood.
He glared at us and threw his poo.
The highlight
Met a gal
Behind wall
Full of lust
Told you're best
Tried to kiss
But I miss
Teeth broken
Was shaken
Then She glared
I Got scared
Police saw
Hit at jaw
All teeth fell
Where I fell
Now Look old
Got a scold
Am now scarred
Roaming barred
Dream was bad
Made me sad
Nyla the disco queen was glitzy and groovy
Gyrating like a mirror of fancy prisms
Throwing flecks of light around the room
I was mesmerized, could not stop watching her
She was as dazzling as any chandelier.
Others began watching her.
I glared at them.
She was mine to watch.

When Simple Simon met the pieman going to the fair,
He thought the guy an easy mark he could con out of his wares.
But the pieman glared at him and hissed,
"Bub, I ain't no danged pie-lanthropist!
Admit I must, you've got some crust,
But show me dough and then my wares I'll share."
light break of the day
A hessian, giant face looks
whilst watching the moon
~
shining auroras
A little, giant fly looks
at the perfect moon

glared breaks of day
lone cloud, filled with rain water
falls from heaven host

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr. 2020©
Who do you trust?
The boy was seven.
He thought for a long time.
He shook his head ‘no’.
No one? She asked.
He barely nodded yes.
What about your mother? She asked.
After a longer time
He looked up.
Glared pure hatred toward her.
Shook his head 'no'.
Shutting down completely now.
Exhausted I was
And I had the worlds’ sorest throat all day
Allergies? Possibly. Something else?
I do not have time for it, so no.
Went to bed at 7:34 p.m.
I know because I glared at the clock
Mad that I was this dhramned tired.
Be young as long as you can, my friends.
Be young and play!
So…are we still friends?
You wrote on my hand
And I laughed at the thought
Of giving you up
While I glared at the markings
And I tried to reply
But I felt insincere
As I muttered, ‘Of course’
It doesn’t feel right
And it hasn’t of late
To be lying on our bond,
Though it may be breaking
Form:
JUST A BIRD
IT FLEW TO ME THIS MORNING
WHILE ON A BENCH
I SAT TO THINK OF YOU
IT GLARED AT ME A WARNING
AND AS ONE EYE STARED INTO HEART
BESIDE MY HAND IT FLEW.
BETWEEN MY FINGERS THEN IT REACHED
AND PLUCKED A CRUST OF BREAD
THEN WENT OFF TO JOIN ITS MOTHER
JUST A BIRD LIKE ANY OTHER.
Form:
Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnight's dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park
Like 'El Beso', lips locked so tight
Bodies glared, though dim was the light
Heart and mind amalgamated
They gleamed, love's luster elated
I walked to the edge of the universe humming a tune— No one else behind me.
Yet I saw a star, who glared as if my past was right behind me.
I asked him—“What do I do; I moved on yet now I have no start.”
He closed an eye and turned on by to say, “keep walking kid, with that tune to lead you to a new start.”
Quietly
I glared at the full moon
For so long
It had me in a trance
Motionless
Now
If you look closely
At my beaming face
It has become
My third eye
Smack right between
My shapely brows
Dead centre
The power of it
Has me swaying
As if to music
Like the gentle
Ebb and flow
Of the ocean.
Lunar power
Prudence rode her neon lime green bike down to the corner
Right up to the library
Entrance, she wore her bleach blond hair spiky short
Talking too loudly and popping her Bazooka Joe
Every time the librarian glared at her
Next to the magazine rack she
Covertly studied the science section hoping no one noticed her focused
Eyes
