Halloween Moon

Perched oval moon glared in baleful triumph;

it’s huge, round face turned my bones to goo!

Mr. Orb’s rapt, relentless gaze raised goosebumps;

scared-goo-feet flew, ‘cause, I swear, it yelled boo!

Thank you - I'm glad you did. It is a fun contest and lately I feel I have read every possible description of the moon. I will have to check out what it actually looks like on Halloween. See if it brings any poetry to mind ... CayCay

There something about being in the open on a dark night by yourself that can be somewhat scary. The hairs on the back of your neck standing and the slightest sound increases your fear. Entertaining poem

Thank you, Mark. You described 'that' dark night fear very well. It definitely involves adrenaline and then, if you are lucky, RELIEF ... CayCay

Very delightful take on the theme, CayCay. We have all had that "boo" moment at sometime in our past Halloweens. Great job in reminding us.

I must go see if you wrote for the contest. I must admit, I am a bit burnt out on Halloween poems and all I want is the chocolate, preferably with nuts. I thank you, Dan ... CayCay
