slow, slower and slower we be
gentle, gentler and gentler yet
lest scars of unvoiced anguish
create ripples in the vast void

Premium Member With a Grandma In It

Isn’t it amazing
that
no matter how you spin it…

life is a little kinder
a little gentler
a little softer
and a little brighter

with a grandma in it

Porcelain Of The Orient

Of what fascinates
In the feminine
Charmingly sweet, ere can, whose cause
Put a finger on
That serene, upstood
A gentler hand made
Exotica, cracks not o'er time
Puts in a trance one!

Guardian Age

The older I get
the lesser the pain
the gentler the words
—a healing refrain

The older I get
the sweeter the song
as memory protects
—myself to belong

Premium Member Quality of Discourse

So disappointing to have a reputation--
Known for argumentative disputation
When we could be known for a gentler tone,
Raising quality of discourse in our generation.

Fond Memory's Child

My body ages…
 as words stay young

Gentler written,
  more often sung

Fond memory’s child…
  youth starts to rage

All gray outside,
  blue-blonde the page

Premium Member Love To Lions

Your eyes are like a bonfire
Smoldering in my heart
I will engulf you with sexual lazer torches
Our union will breed the new age Olympian Choir
We will strut together as lions among our peaceful domain
Blinking gently and loving gentler

Beyond Cities

Yond their aggressive spoke reach
Their dark willed shadow's
Too loud, head, senseless bludgeons
Too close chills the heart
Life, here midst the bird and tree
Now but noted for
What gentler, more obliging
Preserves. At peace art!

Premium Member A Gordon Lightfoot Tribute

Attended a performance last night that blew me away A concert in tribute of Gord Lightfoot, idol of my younger days What glorious memories Evoked teary-eyed reveries A journey back in music, a gentler time it portrayed

Gentler Than My Usual

To pick the rose
that shimmers brightest
at first sight,
be prepared;
for that is the fastest fleeting
of them all.

Let it go when needed,
even after it grows attached
so that its deadness
does not spread to you
and become your own.

Premium Member When Someone Hugs You

Farting when someone hugs you, makes them feel strong It also gives forth a nasty odor that to you it only belongs If other people are around Claim innocence with the frown For gentler farts, I'm renowned and don't gather thronges

For a moment

When he is all popular and confident,
Aproaching you
But halts halfway when you turn to look,
His eyes soften and smile's gentler
And it reminds you of the way your dad looks at your mom
And for the very first time you know exactly,
why your mom blushes everytime

Premium Member Rainbows filled my mind

   Snapshots of a gentler time
     rainbows filled my mind
   Freshwater streams, nature unsullied
     Faces helpful, eager, kind

   Page after page, endearing smiles
     teeth all perfectly aligned
No hint of what's to come
     ~ navigating blind

Sympathetic Love - to meet again, our fate, our fate?

Through a curtain espied
Of moon, star, star-like
Angelic legions
A heart's secret exposed
To gentler, softer
Of love's dimensions.

Through whose longing, pleading
Is with tears awash
Sleepless bed up on
More lone, a dream left with !
Even more so, come morn.
Melted in the sun!

Premium Member A New Years Wish for East the Beast and the West Unblessed

  Whether whiskey or water
    What should it matter

  The point is we oughta
    be toasting each other

Though the East is a Beast
and the West is unblessed …

  May we this year refrain
    from inflicting such pain

  Turn to gentler pursuits
    find for war substitutes

Premium Member It Is Not That Trite

Sand gets grayer, melting sun
Merges into setting phase
Waves slow down their run
To the quieter pace
Gentler blows the ocean breeze
Cirrus clouds decay
Shines a metaphor of peace
In the air today
Looks like postcard type of view
But it’s not that trite
On the premise of the few
Who can breathe the light.

Premium Member Circus Days

I ran away to the circus at the age of two
on a sad day when it was raining.
At first, I didn't know what I should do,
not having the proper training.

I started with an elephant and began to scrub.
His skin was leathery and rough,
but found I could continue with a gentler rub,
when his skin became smooth enough.

A Rainy April Day

A Rainy April Day

Like rolling pebbles on rooftops,
Gentle thunder welcomed a gentler rain;
The Lord gave a coatless Easter, but knew
Emerald grass and foliage thirst, so
Waited ‘til Friday morning,
To send a book-reading soft rain.
How silent it sounded as it fell,
How peaceful was the day
Of the mellow April rain.

Premium Member Rosebed

Spiralling into the depths of a rose.
Scent of petals caresses my nose.
Plummeting through a soft green bed.
Passing through the stem with dread.

Within, I witness its patterns from growth.
Wonderously I see beyond the darkness I loath.
Suddenly fertile soil surrounds me.
Somehow a gentler fall than I thought it would be.

Soft Becoming

Soft Becoming

I used to think
growth had a sound
applause, fireworks,
a loud arrival.

But lately
it feels like breathing:
quiet, steady,
almost unnoticed.

A gentler voice,
a calmer heart,
boundaries forming
like invisible armor.

Maybe becoming
was never meant
to impress the world

only
to bring me home
to myself.

Ii Am Your Spiritual Twin

I don’t love you
just because of your eyes,
gentler than the summer rays.
I don’t love you
just because of your hair
that fondles my dreams.
I don’t love you
just because of your body
a masterpiece of the divine hand!
I love you best
because of your heart
at the moment after sunrise
on that sunny beach.
When you kissed me
and whispered,
‘I’m your spiritual twin!’"
