Garbage Truck
One habit to which I adhere
I clean out my Ford once a year
Back seat yet to fill
Keep truckin’ until
I’m no longer able to steer...

Poop Pain
As I live and as I breath
Constipation makes me heave
The pain just makes me cry
No matter what I try
My poo's stuck, I do believe

I simply don’t have the luck
In my gut my poo is stuck
The smell that’s from my bum
Makes your nose rather numb
It’s worse than a garbage truck...

Premium Member I Eat Like a Pig
I eat like a pig, scarfing, grunting, chewing, not tasting.
I want to blame my metabolism for my corpulent gluttony.
I am planning my next meal as I scarf down this one.
A giant bowl of ham, beans and cornbread.
Thinking about it makes me happy as a fat sow in a garbage truck.
I need to take a little nap to get ready for my next feeding....

Stillness
The birdsong’s interrupted by
The lawn machine next door.
I cannot hear the tweets and trills
Above the mower’s roar.

An airplane flies by overhead;
The garbage truck makes beeps,
But suddenly, the man-made noises
Cease and there are cheeps.

Though sounds of nature coexist
With man’s cacophony,
Cessation of the latter
Brings a stillness sweet to me....

Premium Member The Old Cupboard
I used to scrub my memory clean
I packed the sadness
Into an old cupboard
Before I packed my tiredness
Into the night
And slept soundly
I locked the rain and the wind outside
I never let the cupboard open nor let the sun in
Hoping that the sadness will degenerate and walk away
With the old days
And with the old cupboard
When the garbage truck comes by one day...

Premium Member Two Birds
Little bird sings and the big one croaks
One is happy, the other is rile
If you hear them, you don't have to be coaxed
To enjoy this morn for awhile
The garbage truck took the litter away
All the remnants of food and stuff
So the big bird had a point to say
Some invectives, the most rough
But the little bird has another view
Enjoying the pale winter sun
She is singing madly for me and you
While the day hasn't yet began.

The Wee Hours
the cigarette is finished
I can postpone no more
my wrestling with the night
pills referee my fight

tomorrow will be daylight
on fresh fallen snow
I will write
with a dead twig
on fresh fallen snow
then throw the twig
into the open back
of a departing garbage truck
that leaves tired tire tracks
on fresh fallen snow

the night’s fears
inconsequential tears
whispers from past years
weak fires routinely snuffed out
on fresh fallen snow...

The Garbage Truck Redux
The garbage truck goes by; I flash
To seven years ago.
I’d lift my grandson up and then,
His eager face a’glow…

We’d step outside so he could watch
The sanitation crew
Dump everything recycled
In the truck for it to chew.

The men would wave and we would wait
Until they drove away,
A little part of our routine
On babysitting day.

These days, he barely notices
When pick-up’s taking place,
But I remember and it brings
A smile to light my face....

Grate Again
when growing up
getting to stay up
the tv's day ended

an on screen flag
waved as the anthem
played and then

white noise which
soothed me always
sounding like an ocean

then a time came to pass
that that wasn't enough
they not we wanted more

the waves no longer hit the shore
just hate added with more
negativity deplorably

we cleansed the house
by burning sage the day
the garbage truck took

away the television
happily to say
my son

can
see
clearer...

Plastic Dreams
Plastic bags
	hold plastic dreams:

Water bottles filled with filtered
hope seething chloride stained
brains left thought
-less attracted towards rancid
smile at the magic hat
trick of the eye
candy dispenser tossed on the ground
‘s keeper cleaned up from last nights
parade with clown
faces that look away when strangers
dance together in the rain
falling trash chokes the air
	from a buttercup
fragments used to tie up

Bags full
	Ready to meet
		The garbage truck....

The hamster was in the road one day and BOOM!! he got hit by a garbage truck.

Hamster was singing in the swimming pool one day and a person jumped in and Boom! goes the hamster

Hamster climbed his way to the top of a five foot window (which is like mount everest for a hamster) and BOOM!

Hamster goes BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!!!

Either the hamster has bad luck, or is just REALLY CLUMSY...
