April Magic

When April’s wind briskly blew
Beth’s spring skirt billowed and flew:
Men on the street
Got an eye-treat
‘Cause panties, chose Beth to eschew.

The Iran pact's signed with a seal
But t-rump can't stand Shia zeal
So them he'll eschew
And force a new breakthrough
Since only he knows how to deal

Leads brutes to think they’ll tread on me
But I too have rights
And might eschew fights
If backed by a fair referee

Return To the Stars

If we remember to look at horizon and sky
The Universe draws us higher, whispers a reply
We all are stardust yet somehow so earthy
Humans eschew solid troughs, for color & crest (the showy)

First Birthday

Happy birthday to a tot on her one-eth
Most times its best to not know what cometh.
But it has been said by prophets, forsooth:
Surely you'll have more teeth on your twoth
Oh glory to vittles masticatable
You'll be glad to eschew the unchewable.

One Shot

In spite of all your riches
you eschew what prophets do
Basilicas you build to self
with time but empty pews

Wealth deadly suicidal
when wielded as a gun
Whose target sits between your eyes
with one shot zero-sum

God's Way

I don't think
so I stink,
evil I didn't eschew
it I did chew,
God i took for granted
I became grounded,
had bad attitude
that brought low altitude,
I don't pray
so I was the devil's prey,
I got tired
and decided to be fired,
then I gave God a chance
He made me to dance.

The Only Thing That Matters

Search the world
for your treasures,
lap up luxury,
fondle greed,
eschew the lowly
and humble
while your ego
struts naked before
a disdainful world.

But I would give up
Shakespeare's crown
and the touch of Midas
to seek the only thing
that matters-- to be
in God's good grace.

Premium Member The Sin of Sloth

when we fall prey to complacency

and comfortably wallow in abject sloth,

we suffocate motivation in its nascency.

eschew apathy and inactivity; rise above both!

Apocalypse---

Abortive gorgons cling.
Political messiahs creep.
Other dystopias eschew.
Called messiahs lament.
American messiahs laze.
Lyrical raptures luxuriate.
Youthful doomsayers linger.
Private revelations lurk.
Startling revelations cower.
Environmental catastrophes cavort.

Premium Member Homeless

How must it feel to carry all you own
in one old shopping cart or your back,
to trudge through alleys weary to the bone,
to crave the food and shelter that you lack,
to long to leave the street life you eschew?

But for the grace of God, we’d be there too.

Utter Nonsense

Allow me to introduce the hermit Hugh who I do deduce felt it within himself to eschew an embrace yet being obtuse when on a wild chase did goose a moose in the caboose then a disgrace but such behaviour did induce Bruce another recluse to pick up the pace when playing footsie under the table fast and loose

Write It Right

Wright, write right
Real men eschew fright
In this place, wrongs are right
Traditional rites in daylight?
Expose how that day turned night

In that pen there is might
Take a step with great delight

Right things be written right
Include that supernatural flight
Get thy vision shinning bright
Heave up thy humdrum sight
Think deep and be a knight

Proud poets parade playful wordy wit,
Their careful craft becomes just diddly s..t.
No matter how hard we may try
Can’t outdo IQ of AI.
Shall we hoist the white flag and run with it?!

Digital era deemed undignified,
As bright grey matter becomes atrophied.
Before the mindset goes awry,
We shall eschew diddly AI -
Its fatuous facade is dead inside!

Don'T Abhor a Whore

Of the things we abhor
We should not add a whore.
You can one give a store
To build with a strength raw
And - Yes - urge to make core
A trade which cleans The Sore:
The world show A New Floor
On which no trash she'll pour:
New space, new floor, New Door...

Of the things whores abhor
They should eschew labor:
Commerce not think A Bore,
Idleness not harbour.

Integrity

Venture without stopping
Hold on to your dream
Remain flipping flopping
That dream will lose gleam

Demur without waver
Do not hesitate
Defer, Accept favour
And you seal your fate

Observe, eschew bias
And trust what you see
Maintain neither pious
Submission; be free

Toward freedom aspire
Spurn hegemony
Honest witness require
For integrity

I Wish I Had a Bloody Mary

I wish I had a Bloody Mary
     To come to my rescue
And quell the aches and pains caused by
     The drink I should eschew

Please make it extra spicy
With the olives, now don’t skimp
Maybe even top it off
With a tasty big fat shrimp

A bit of hot horseradish
‘Round the rim would be delightful
Then please tell why I drink
     That would really be insightful
